The Human Family Tree (NGC, 30 Aug, 9 PM EDT)
Heads up, dudes! There is an important program on Sunday, 30 August 2009, at 9 PM EDT on The National Geographic Channel. It is entitled The Human Family Tree, and here is the web site for the program:

I regard this program as being highly significant and this entire discipline as one of the master sciences of the age. I hope to discuss it with you here after the program ends.
As we used to say in prehysteric times, “be there or be square!"

Watching now, how interesting that they are getting DNA samples from people at a street fair in Queens, N.Y., N.Y. City is one of the most diverse places on the planet, they say that all DNA no matter where you come from is 99.9% identical. Life as we know it started approximately 200, 000 years ago in Africa.

Why is Shirleypal the only person who is posting in this thread outside of myself and why is Shirleypal apologizing for not watching the program live last night when she appears to have been the only member of this forum who even looked at this program at all?
Do you people think that I am crazy for thinking that people just looked at the title of the thread, saw that it was by me, simply said "Quinn started it, huh? Well, f**k him!", and went their merry way elsewhere? Am I crazy, at this stage of the game, to believe this?
The program was every bit as important as I said that it was, and if you could have watched this program last night and decided not to do so strictly and solely because I recommended it, then you are a idiot, a blooming idiot.
God, I would have understood a post that asked the question: "why is this topic important?" I could have dealt with that. But silence, absolute silence. I cannot deal with that.
Can you blame me? And Shirleypal, for once, I don't want you to post in response. You are the last person on The Fantastic Forum who needs to apologize for anything...

Joe so glad I watched this very important program, not sure I agree with all, but it wasn't done from a perspective that they know it all, what a concept. Since I recorded it will hang on to the video and watch it again, safely tucked away in my library.
The good news is I went to Target last week and finally replenished my devoid stock of video tapes.

Well, some people might have thought, "hey, that sounds interesting," but had something else to do at the time, or else just forgot about it.
The website says it be shown again Tuesday 1 September at 9 p.m. I will try to catch it. Looking at the graphics on the site, however, I am worried that they're going to toe the old line about the Americas being uninhabited until wandering hunters crossed the Beringia land bridge 15,000 years ago.

Anchors Aweigh
Some people have cable companies who do not provide the National Geographic Channel and some people are not fortunate enough to be able to afford more than basic cable service. I am among them.
It does seem rather pointless to post about a program not available to me.
