Update from Puerto Escondido........
Where to start...........
Been out of touch for awhile. It only took a day and a half to get here but it was worth the trip.
I plan on staying here until I need to make a border run to Guatemala on June 19th. I had 60 days on my arrival to Mexico but have paid for a 90 day extension. You are allowed a maximum of 6 months on a FM-T (which is a tourist Visa) so I'll have been here 5 months by then.
I figure about a 2 week stay in GUA or HON before returning to do it again.
I'm sharing an apartment with a girl from Australia who is travelling to meet up with her boyfriend in Guatemala who is from France. Other than helping each other out with the rent for a very beautiful place to stay which is only 5 minutes from the best beach in Puerto Escondido, we are just good friends.
This was a girl I met through a fellow Canadian I met down here. The Australian girl had been robbed on the beach by locals and Claudio and hs wife had her stay at their condo until she could arrange for money to get back on her feet. He is an entertainer playing in a band in Canada called Copperstill. He looks just like Ned Flanders from the Simpsons and that's his stage name down here. Been many a night that I have been working on my singing career singing with Ned LOL.
Unfortunately Claudio had to head back on Saturday but will be returning in December.
He played at an Italian restaurant here, of which the owner is a good friend. His polopa roof collapsed a few weeks ago and Claudio, myself and 2 others worked feverously to clean out the mess so he could reopen the next day. This unfortunate Italain fellow couldn't thank us enough.......
Been to many BBQ's and been doing lots of snorkeling.
And as a matter of fact I'm on my way to do some right now, so I'll continue this next time I'm on-line.
Muchos tardes mi amigos

Oh Meggers... I sounds wonderful and I would so like to run away, but life is in my way. Ottawa is getting beautiful weather at last and the trees are just about ready to sprout leaves. Water level was high as usual in the spring, but has settled down... Canal and Mooney's Bay ready for traffic... Tulip festival started off this weekend... beaches aren't open yet
Stay safe, have a good time.

So, how is it there??? Spending some time in P.E. in january, as a house is being built there in my wifes name ( born in Mexico) and we get " visitation ". Is it really as nice as I have been told, and what is the easiest way to get there?-----heard fly to Mexico city, transfer to a flight to Hualtaco ( did I spell it right?) and take a cab for 10$ US to Puerto Escondido.

Hit 50C on my thermometer today:eek: Hate to think what it was with the humidex...........
PE is great. Got some fantastic beaches here but most are only suitable for surfing. Maybe someday:rolleyes:
It's pretty good here. The tourist season is over so it's pretty quite right now. There are 2 big surfing tournaments in Sept and Nov, so I suspect things won't really get busy until then. I'll enjoy the peace and quite until then.
Nice to here things are finally starting to thaw out back in Canada. I'm sure it's been a long winter.
