Almost there.............

As anyone on the FF knows the Lost Harbour & Dry Dock was dedicated to the building of my Trimaran and sailing off into the sunset.
I was to spend 3 years building it here in Ottawa, but the plans have changed.........
It all started when my wife of 10 years left me about 3 weeks before Xmas. It took the wind out of my sails so to speak.
The boat come hell or high water will be built, but not here and not at this point in my life.
In my browsing for a sailing destination, I came across an area in Guatemala known as the Rio Dulce. Upon further browsing I came acrossed a place known as Casa Guatemala.
Casa Guatemala is home to 250 orphaned, abandoned and abused Mayan children in Rio Dulce area. It receives no government funding and depends solely on donations and volunteers.
I am to be one of those volunteers.
My tenative date for leaving is the end of this month or the first week of February. I will be going for at least a year at first, but I also plan on staying and living in either Rio Dulce or Belize. This is a one-way trip.
I will spend as long as it takes to build my boat as I plan on it being my final home.
Associated with Casa Guatemala is Hotel Backpackers. It is frequented by many boaters on the Rio Dulce and many locals. Proceeds go to help support the Children's Village.
They do have an internet connection there and at most of the marina's in the area, so I will not be totally cut-off, but will be very scarce most likley.
I plan on starting a journal with pictures, but not sure how often it will be updated as I'm not sure what free time I will have on my hands, but I will be sure to make time when possible.
More to come later when my eyes, fingers and heart are not so tired..........
