First thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes.

Nope Linnea, I'm on the island of Roatan in Honduras. This place is truly paradise.
May decide to plant some roots here.:D

Great to finally hear from you megman. Sounds like a fantastic place. Did a bit of research. Here's a map of the isle. Looks like a mini Cuba...

And a late Happy Birthday to you. :D

*on the phone*. . . . yes . . . yeah, no we found him . . . yes . . He finally checked in . . . . . . Roatan, of all places . . . great . . yeah, stop searching the jails, bars & hospitals . . . . and stop downloading the Stolen Yacht sheet. . . . Allright, goodbye. *click!*

ROATAN?! Not even in the Gulf of Mexico? C'mon, what are ya scared to play a little Carribean Roulette? (a.k.a. hurricane season) :D

So Mike, tell me, is there available space in Roatan to build the boat? I really wanna see that girl afloat.

Good to hear from you, brau! :)

Meg, Happy Belated Birthday - I just know you enjoyed it.

Are you planning to go back to the orphanage or is this a continuation of your journey?

All the best.

Happy Belated Birthday, wait I think I said it in the BD thread...Yea, I did you were laying on the beach which is exactly what you have been doing!

So is it pretty inexpensive there to live, is it a safe place, what if you had a medical emergency. I want a paradise, yes indeed...

Have a great time.:)

Found this site of Jonesville Bight Roatan, Honduras.

http://geoffschultz.org/2002_Sailing/Te ... Bight.html

Well never mind about how affordable geezzee the homes are going for 1/4 to 1/2 MILLION dollars...The pic's in this site will give you an idea of the homes and their surroundings that are for sale.. Some cheaper but no pic's on them.

http://www.sellthishouse.com/HND_Bay_Is ... lands.html

The above site will also show Jonesville Bight and BJ's internet Cafe. plus many other pic's of surroundings. Jonesville is cliffy and full of growth, many houses are on the water..

Still alive. Just been ducking hurricanes.

Internet service sucks here, pardon the spanglish..............
At least out at BJ's. Usually have to go all the way the French Harbour.

p.s. To the powers that be: I'm still missing about 9200 posts on the count.;)

Thanks for fixing the post count Linnea:D

Been a spell since I've checked in. We got pretty lucky as far as hurricanes go in Roatan. Worst we had was the rainbands from the leeside of Ivan. Had about 6" of rain in 2 hours.

Presently back in Antigua. Have a friend who is sailing out of Rio Dulce the end of this month to Cartegena, Columbia. If all goes well I am sailing with him. Really looking forward to it. I hear Cartegena is beautiful:cool:

Hiya, Megman! Glad to hear the adventure continues. Sure would love to sit down in a harborside cafe with you, and hear all the fabulous tales, over a few brews. :) Miss ya! Log in when you can, and for snail mail:

Public At Large
4742 42nd Ave SW - 345
Seattle WA 98116-4553
USA

I'll be checking ....
:p

ps: we will be bringing a FF Store online in a couple weeks. If you get together a box of souvenirs and crafts, send it and we'll sell your items. An export/import business. ;) FF will keep a small fee. It could be fun - altho' don't know how profitable. Ya never know! The FF pirates may be interested in goods from far away Ports of Call. You still got a Paypal account?

Take care, until we meet again - aboard the WWW Fantastic.

Maybe someday we'll meet in a port-o-call Linnea:cool:

Good idea on the crafts and stuff. Will look into it but the problem on this end is the reliability of the postal system, which isn't that great and can be expensive.

Will do a feasibility study:D

What! No FedEx? Maybe we can order a pick up/you drop off - on the Public At Large account. May be more reliable? Let me know what's possible. Or, maybe - I could get a tri-maran and sail out to bring stuff back. Right....
:D
