not just TIME - also newsweek and couple others that have come out recently.

I still pay little heed to polls - there is only one that will count - thats at the ballot.

Its WHO counts the "ballots" which will determine this (s)election. :(

Usually the polls have Kerry unfortunatly leading by about 3-8%. Major swing in the polls. The undecideds it seems are rallying behind Bush. Thank God!
What you probably saw was a crawl, side bar or box showing the results of The Badger Poll (see below). Neither side is putting much stock in this poll.

The latest posted MSNBC numbers:
Sept. 22, 2004

registered voters
Bush: 48%
Kerry: 45%

likely voters
Bush: 50%
Kerry: 46%

The poll, conducted by Hart/McInturff, shows Bush receiving support from 48 percent of registered voters, Kerry getting 45 percent, and Nader getting 2 percent. Among likely voters (defined as those expressing high interest in the November election, who represent 78 percent of the survey), Bush holds a four-point lead over Kerry, 50 percent to 46 percent.

Bush opens big lead in Wisconsin, but both sides question the figures

By David Callender

The Badger Poll shows President Bush, on the eve of his visits to Janesville and Racine on Friday, leading Democratic challenger John Kerry by 14 percentage points in Wisconsin.

Both campaigns were skeptical of the large gap, and the poll director said they might reflect a "bubble" of public resentment at Bush's treatment by CBS News.
