A ‘Dewey Defeats Truman’ Lesson for the Digital Age

Talk about arrogance...........

A ‘Dewey Defeats Truman’ Lesson for the Digital Age

All the dazzling technology, the big data and the sophisticated modeling that American newsrooms bring to the fundamentally human endeavor of presidential politics could not save American journalism from yet again being behind the story, behind the rest of the country.

The news media by and large missed what was happening all around it, and it was the story of a lifetime. The numbers weren’t just a poor guide for election night — they were an off-ramp away from what was actually happening.

No one predicted a night like this — that Donald J. Trump would pull off a stunning upset over Hillary Clinton and win the presidency.

The misfire on Tuesday night was about a lot more than a failure in polling. It was a failure to capture the boiling anger of a large portion of the American electorate that feels left behind by a selective recovery, betrayed by trade deals that they see as threats to their jobs and disrespected by establishment Washington, Wall Street and the mainstream media.

Watching CNN early this morning (6:00AM), one of the anchors Alisyn Camerota looked stunned AND pissed......... Haven't had a chance to see MSNBCs Chuck Todd's reaction, but I'm virtually certain he was probably on the verge of taking cyanide.

I have been reading about the" Amazement " that such Superior, Intelligent, Well Educated, humans could be WRONG! How is this possible.? Could it be, that they really believed their own Superior crap, and walked away from the hum-drum struggles, that us regular humans face every day of our lives?

"Could it be" you ask?????

The elites in this country are pathetic - Fox ran a story in the 4:30-5:00PM segment tonight asking whether all the celebrities who said that they'd be leaving if Trump were elected are lining up or not. And, if not, WHY not?

"Allegedly" (can't find a source), Amy Schumer, one of the high and mighty has declared than "anyone who taunts celebrities about not leaving are racist...."

Does she know what "racist means?????? Is this the result of Liberal education?

So sad......
