WASHINGTON (Sept. 3) -- The Arctic is warmer than it's been in 2,000 years, even though it should be cooling because of changes in the Earth's orbit that cause the region to get less direct sunlight.
Indeed, the Arctic had been cooling for nearly two millennia before reversing course in the last century and starting to warm as human activities added greenhouse gases to the atmosphere.

Seems a little confusing to me, wonder what is really going on, guess it depends on who you are listening to.

Shirley - yes it seems confusing for sure... hmm considering northwest passageway - considering the viking type ship found frozen in the ice - from early explorers who used the arctic to travel acrost --
then the report that glaciers are reforming faster - that was from a small AK science article read on radio show - regarding this arctic area stuff.
greenhouse gases -- hmm interesting... The antarctic shelves breaking off - but the snow and ice on top of Antarctic is deeper -
I dunno guess I give up trying to figure it all out...
