And as for the FILM...it taught me never to trust anyone...especially your own husband.

A friend...who is also my doppelganger. I tell her I'm her stunt double. ;)

Agreed! & Me too! (Shirleypal, please let me know when this happens, as I don't want to miss it!!) Barbie, you should repost your story there, as well as leave it here - my husband and I both got chill bumps reading it - that is so cool!

Bellisima - I think you & Joe as Ma & Pa Kettle is spot on hilarious!! :D ! Marjorie Maine (sp?) was a comic genius.

okay,

Post by Live365 » 08-19-2006 06:51 PM

I successfully rented it. :D

Didn't think I would , as due to the PlayStation 2 age, they put very few classics on DVD, anymore. "Meatballs II" and "Earnest goes to Camp" are easy, but please. "Rosemary's Baby"?? Even the twenty-something rolled her eyes at me. "I, like, watched this movie, like, a year ago. Like, okay? I didn't like see, like the point, okay? I hated the, like, end." Ew.

But I got it !

Also rented Damien: Omen II. Have no clue why. I guess I like that kid. Would love to see him as a grown adult. :o But I've heard it said that this was not the WORST, of the GREAT sequels. Perhaps worth a watch.

But back to Rosemary. The back cover says: "possibly the best horror film ever made". Excuse you. "The Exorcist" was the best horror film ever made. But I digress.

Going to watch the movie now! :):D

:D Now, see.... given the source, that translates to a glowing endorsement in my book! :)

Please 'splain. Because I feel I have unfinished business with you regarding Lisa Garr. :) :) :)

Thank you, Dixie Butcher.

Does anybody remember Audrey Rose? In my specs, it was just as riveting, but a lot loss demonic.

As for Rosemary's Baby... if you've read the post wherein I mentioned why my mother left me behind when I was 3, (has to do with UFOS and family religion) let me just say it's a GOOD thing no one had written Rosemary's Baby or The Exorcist before Mom left town without me. She'd have sworn she'd mated with the Devil, and probably neither of us siblings would have lived to tell you about any of it! Our bones would have been dug up somewhere on the "back-forty" after the property was sold and sub-divided in 1967!

K. :) I now see why you guys LOVE Ruth Gordon. She was in *something else* during my generation ( ), but I can't place it. Wikipedia says "Taxi" and "Saturday Night Live". But no. It was something else. Something more. She's brilliant.

Also love the way Polanski cuts the scenes. Adds to it.

Back to the movie. :)
