There are tons of great movies from every decade, but here's a few that come immediately to mind...

1930s : The Invisible Ray

1940s : Mighty Joe Young

1950s : Abbott and Costello Go To Mars & 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea

1960s : Barbarella

1970s : Two-Lane Blacktop

1980s : The Search for Animal Chin or maybe Bladerunner

1990s : The Matrix

2000s : Donnie Darko
For if it profit, none dare call it Treason.

Yes! A Shot In The Dark and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Great movies! Wizard of Oz - years ahead of its time.

I think I know why Squid liked 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. It must have been the giant squid attack scene...that gave me nightmares.

Do "Little Rascal" episodes count?

Unless and until the Dude says otherwise I don't know why not...

I'll be interested to know which ones you choose. It's been ages since I was watching 'em regularly but even so I know they could be quite funny, depending on who-all was in the gang at the time and how young they were - Insofar Spanky and Alfalfa were big names right along, the bigger each became physically lead to diminishing returns on overall entertainment value IMHO.

I guess it says something insofar Little Rascals aka Our Gang shorts were produced in the '30s and '40s that you'd find them superior to any feature film from either of those decades eh?

Not really you say? How so Dude?

My understanding is 'movie' is just short for 'moving picture', right?

Jus' 'cause they ain't full-length features don't mean they ain't movies.

OK, rather than rack my mind I'll make another call here based only on B-movie memorability from childhood - I really enjoyed watching this flick on the local weekly SciFi/Horror TV late show and have never forgot it...

In fact, such an impression it left on my young self, years later it had no small bearing on my choosing Electrical Engineering emphasizing electromagnetics as my undergrad college major!

Plan 9 From Outer Space and any other Ed Wood movie.

I love seeing the flying saucers held by string - what a guy or gal I should say?
