Brain Dead

Thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends, as news comes of the Pro Wrestling Legend's passing Sunday.

A one in a billion performer, some ring historians have called him the greatest manager of all time, and by all accounts, Bobby Heenan was a master of every aspect of his role. He could talk a blue streak on the mic, making himself a valuable mouthpiece for anyone he represented. His comedic talents were priceless. And when it came time to pay the piper for all his evil deeds, no one could take a beating like "The Brain."

Described by World Wrestling Entertainment as "one of sports-entertainment's best loved legends," Heenan was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by Blackjack Lanza in 2004.

Thanks Riddick. Sad -I think that people generally forget that, whether we're talking pro-wrestling or other sports, acting or music, at the end of the day, these are real people trying to love their lives and they have family affected by their passing. I wish Bobby's family well, and pray that he RIP. We're losing a lot of the old guard, in many areas.

BONUS BRAIN BITS!

Here's replacements for some of the 'Brain Fart' video no-shows at the '25 Hilarious Moments' link I provided -

AWA PROMOS
In the first, Bobby deftly rattles off insults, dogging the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the High Flyers. In the next, Heenan is in rapid-fire comedy mode, somehow managing to sell Verne Gagne's Pro Wrestling Report while trashing it.

WEASEL SUIT MATCH
Losing the match to Greg Gagne, Heenan was forced to wear a weasel suit and he made the most of the incident with some zealous slapstick. Includes the TV studio 'set-up' for the arena match.

WWF PRIME TIME WRESTLING
An anniversary program segment featuring highlights from previous episodes.

VS. BIG BOSS MAN
Though the actual action doesn't start until some minutes into the match, it's compelling from the start because of how ridiculous and hilariously cowardly Heenan is.

ANDRE THE GIANT
Andre's face turn and rejection of Bobby Heenan made for great television. Andre had Heenan roll around in a tub of grapes and Heenan denied that it was indicative of a failing relationship. He then asked the giant if everything was "hunky-dory" only to get his hand crushed in the process.

DENNIS MILLER SHOW
Bobby Heenan was the type of guy you could listen to tell stories long into the night. Here's a taste of that in a clip from The Brain's appearance in 2004.

One thing you can say about Bobby Heenan is that he had style. Confrontational, argumentative, a blow hard at times, but always entertaining in his own way........
