Miller Lite IN A CrusherFest Commemorative Cup

Arrived about 1:30. After I bought a Miller Lite, we walked up and down the food court but while I was already set on the turkeyneck sandwich, my sis decided on having the Crusher Jumbo Polish Sausage (They were also serving Bruiser Brats).

We ate at the Entertainment Tent, where the band was playing polkas (what else?) Next, at the Wrestling Tent, Baron's line was as long as you'd expect it to be! But I got autographed pics from ROH's Silas Young and Beer City Bruiser, no waiting. Got a 2nd beer, 2:30 we headed for the statue area, by 3 the place was packed! -

Turns out Jerry Lawler's flight was delayed, so he missed the ceremony but hey, the show must go on. Crusher's kids got a grand reception, the South Milwaukee mayor not so much. He wouldn't stop talking & a "Crusher" chant broke out. Baron got a HUGE pop, he delivered his tribute as a (mostly) in-character rasslin promo.

Finally it was time for the big unveil, and as the drop cloth descended, seeing was believing: Beer keg on his shoulder, classic Crusher expression on his face, 100% unmistakable. HOW 'BOUT DAT? A day in South Milwaukee doesn't get any better!

Absolutely "Stunning" Crusher Fest Attendance

Just when the legacy of Reggie "Da Crusher" Lisowski was about to be counted out, Chris Smith entered the ring and saved it. The Village of Mt. Pleasant & City of South Milwaukee attorney helped raise funds to honor the South Milwaukee native, and over the weekend his legacy was celebrated with the two day Crusher Fest.

Smith said he was expecting about 5,000 people; they ended up drawing about 13,000. At the festival, a bronze lifelike statue of Lisowski was revealed with one arm holding a beer keg over his shoulder, and the other arm perfectly positioned to be used as a headlock for people wanting a unique selfie.

“I’m ecstatic with how the statue turned out,” Smith said, but his work is not finished with Da Crusher. “The next thing that needs to be corrected is he needs to be in the hall of fame,” Smith said. At Da Crusher Fest, attendees signed a petition in the form of a banner asking for Lisowski to be in the WWE Hall of Fame.

“We’re going to send that to the WWE because he deserves it,” Smith said.
