Did you know it is against the law to pump your own gas in Oregon ? (I think New Jersey is also that way.)

We're either side of $2.20 here in Mass, depending on location - larger cities and the islands have far higher prices.

Would you believe unleaded regular here in SE WI has spiked as much as 30 cents/gal in the last couple days?? I've seen it priced at $2.55 up to $2.70, reportedly the highest it's been since 2015

Seems In part due to hurricane Harvey, there's also a downed pipeline, a delayed and compressed maintenance schedule and the lowest inventories in two years all combining into a perfect price surge storm that's hitting central states the hardest.

The "good" news is supposedly the storm should start to abate in the next some days and we'll see prices recede in the coming weeks.

The gas prices here, (Oregon), seem to have shot Up also. They are around $2.78 gal. Since I don't have a car any longer, I pay less attention. I do miss the car. :(

Vancouver Gas Prices Nearing $8 A Gallon — The Highest In North America

DAVID KRAYDEN
Ottawa Bureau Chief
4/29/18

Want to fill up in Vancouver, British Columbia? It’ll cost you — a lot.

Gas prices surged to $160.9 a liter Sunday morning — almost $8 a gallon in USD.

Former Liberal Member of Parliament Dan McTeague, who now heads the petroleum industry watchdog GasBuddy.com, told CBC News that Vancouver has the dubious honor of having the highest gas prices anywhere in North America, from Alaska to Mexico.

“These are the highest prices that we have ever seen here in Vancouver,” he said. “We’re into uncharted territory here and extremely expensive for pretty much everyone.”

Although McTeague says the price spike has its roots in a low Canadian dollar and refinery breakdowns, Vancouver was one of the first cities in Canada to proudly unveil a carbon tax that has continued to escalate year after year. McTeague recently told Vancouver radio station News 1130 that taxes on gas sold in B.C. account for 50 cents of every liter, which is the highest energy taxes in North America.

In Milwaukee it's $2.78 according to gasbuddy.com, but about 20 cents less in Madison (outside the SE WI EPA attainment zone)

In general the last month the average for unleaded regular around here has gone up a good 30 cents per gallon. When I say "good," I mean 'perty close to that figure', NOT 'I'm happy to see the cost go higher'
