EVery one of those people (steps) results in a markup Doka - everyone wants their cut, right? Perfect example, my wife buys something at Macy's on their "LAST CHANCE" rack. Huge savings, right? WRONG - they're still making huge profits. Even at 70-90% off, they're still making a huge profit. Most insurance companies drive reimbursement rates in healthcare, and THEIR costs are all overhead. Cut out the insurance industry and healthcare costs will drop. Expand this across the various sectors and cut out waste and prices will drop on their own

If we went back to how it was before insurance and everyone paid their own way, health care price tags sure as heck would come down 'cause the vast majority of folks couldn't or wouldn't pay the horse-choking charges we have today

OTOH, we go to government single payer, IMHO high cost-wise it'll cure nothing, access and quality will suffer, and all we'll have is a bitter pill MADE to choke.
Imagine that Riddick. Have you ever had to call an insurance company over a claims denial? Someone - sometimes a nurse, sometimes another "expert", "reviews" your case and makes a decision on whether the insurance company will be covering the claim. Let me give you an example of just how stupid this can get. A few years ago, Tufts insurance decided that, based on previous exposure to radiation, that they could deny covering any future claims for care if radiation was used. Their justification was the tables commonly used which showed "average" exposure to various types of imaging studies. There are a number of variables which can (and do) contribute to the dosages received by patients.

But, never let logic get I the way of common sense. The insurer took this information and ran with it, denying claims to patients using the rationale of not wishing to cause additional harm. Never mind that that intracranial bleed would not be diagnosed in time to reverse the stroke. Heck no! There were bonuses at stake!!!!!

Eventually the practice was overturned, but there are other instances of claims denials based on studies - some of which are refuted, but, at the end of the day you have to ask yourself, "Who's better off?"

Reminds me of a Monty Python skit where a vicar finds out he has a no-pay policy, which is very worthwhile unless you ever file a claim - The good news: you have insurance! The bad news comes when you actually need to use it -

When your insurance salesman's name is Ron Devious, what else can you expect?

A minimum-wage worker needs 2.5 full-time jobs to afford a one-bedroom apartment in most of the US

https://www.businessinsider.com/minimum ... r=facebook

Yep, you guys just keep on voting for the guy who just gave the rich a big fat tax break. I sincerely hope that if he wins the house and senate he will cut seniors medical coverage, (you know the entitlement he and McConnell hate), and you have to pay out of pocket to stay healthy in your old age. You all might be able to well afford to pay for your own medical insurance but Trump's biggest fan probably wouldn't be. Right Doka? My new past time entertainment...watching Americans shoot themselves in the foot. He should privatise fire departments, cops and infrastructure repairs too, as these are all the hated socialism. The thing they hate the most though is ORDINARY PEOPLE.

You can lose your house to pay for medical treatment so why not lose your house to fire because you can't afford fire department insurance? See how stupid this is? Why one could go on and on and on insuring everything that keeps you alive with peace of mind and quality of life.

The news business model in healthcare is per diem hours. No full time or part time and definitely no benefits. It's been this way for a while now, but has been getting worse for a while............ If you're the CEO, CFO, etc, it's great because you reap great bonuses. If you're staff, you're screwed because you're literally running form job to job, working al kinds of shift. Insane..........

O.K. Kbot, I will play.

What about the fast , becoming, Majority, that don't pay their own now? You really want to Insult them by forcing them, to pay a few bucks for their OWN heath care. ! (Sheesh!)

What about the Real people who don't have the money AND do not partake in Free health care.?

Are Doctors really ready to take chickens again for payment?

About those Doctors..........Who would want to be one?

Back to Wild West medicine....... who is going to a Dr, even if they could find one? And more than likely too late any way.

All this is fluff Kbot, it won't Happen, not going backwards , in any thing, going forward with positive aspects for all. How about these massive capitalist corporations, financing health care, in lieu of paying taxes? Despite of what you think they do pay really Big money in taxes, the thousands of people that work for them pay taxes. How about allowing Insurence companies to sell any where in the US, let them deal with competing prices, "He who has the best and sells for the least, WINS, TO The peoples advantage!

I know, I know the Socialist way, is to take the money from the Regular people, until they are all broke, and looking at family members like a receipe for dinner. The government has all your money and power over absolutely everything in your life, if want to call that "living" ? Like Venezuela's Chavez, who's daughter sits in her palace with 9 BILLION$ of Her People's money, while they starve........I really can't understand the appeal that. By the way the Socialists don't approve of A Citizens right to OWN property. So pucker up and kiss your nice paid for house goodby.

Not gonna play the fear game Doka - what about the realities of the here and now? In the present, corporate executive salaries far exceed regular employees' wages. Again, look at healthcare. In a hospital setting, a CEO make more in bonus money if they can prove that they have high-tech imaging available at the same stress address. We are running into an issue with our PET and MRI depts. which run using mobile units. One option was to have on at the hospital and one at the OP Medical office building across the street. No dice - the execs fought it because it affected THEIR bonuses.

This type of scenario occurs every day in all hospitals across the country. So much waste - it's sad......

Whoa Doka - I didn't vote for Obama....... And, under Trump, the per diem model has only expanded.......

TRUMP tried!, I watched him do his darnest to get out from under that "5,000 Page piece of crap" but with one lousey vote by repub-o-crat McCain, blew him out of the water.

I Have no Idea what you watch, but you are NOT watching Trump. The Democrats never stop trying to get rid of him...........he has been in office not even 2 years and has done more for the country and the people, than seen in a long time. You do know that there are Democrats still hold up with-in government sectors, STILL RUNNING ON OBAMIE POLICY. !! Like Health care, I agree it needs attention. But, the Democrats will do ANYTHING to stop him, it is one drama circus after another , including calling for Violence. It is distracting !

Spoken like someone who likes overspending

NEVER. Never bounced a check, never late paying. Use a credit card only when I know, I can write a check to cover the entire amount. I've been part owner in a couple homes. Owned and ran my own tiny landscape business .
I shop for car insurance and medical, no longer have a car, but happy about what I get in either case. Always have a "cushion" in checking account, for whatever. I've never had much money, but seemingly just what I need. And my glass is always half full or more. And I'm greatfull for every thing I have and the people who have blessed me by entering my life. And enough Big Pain and Struggle in my life to make me Appreciate All The Above!

I might add that I am my own best friend which works out well since I need to live so close to me. I have friends and acquaintances. And I don't know a stranger. And I envy no one.
