Bell,
I have been thinking about this very thing, "watching and waiting," since Bill told us the news.
If there is any group of people he'd try to contact, it would be the FF, or individuals such as you.
We might think about having a half-hour of so remembrance of Joe, and maybe he'll come through to us if we draw him close to us, and vice versa, through meditation and intervening prayers.
He is not gone, "he is just away."
We have spent years and years talking about the afterlife and believe there IS a wonderful place out there. We have to believe -- and know -- that it's more true than ever when someone this close to our hearts is surely leaving breadcrumbs along his way for us to follow.
Keep watching and waiting -- I believe strongly he'll find a way to let us know he's okay, and is having a wonderful time "in class," this time in the student's seat, listening to the best Teachers in the universe.

It's either real or it's a dream, There's nothing that is in between. ~ Jeff Lynne
This is terribly painful.
How many of you still have Joe on your mind?
I woke up this morn, saying Joe Quinn passed away, before my eyes were even open.
And I still can't believe it..
Many of my friends have passed on... But Joe, no, not Joe.
Tell me it isn't so...
Yes, Bell Laurie, a very bad dream, it is.
The sadness is too great.
I think we loved him, so.

Joe is a man who lived life at the flood. His passion and eloquence resounded into the infinite reaches of being. I am sure he was triumphant, exalted and flooded with Grace - at this crossing of the bar.
He might have even said, with a sparkle in his eye:
"Fuggedah about it, Jake --- it's Chinatown!"

Very appropriate words, Linnea.

Somehow - this just came unbidden into mind. I choose to believe it came from Joe...
I wouldn't underestimate yerself, Linn. I'm betting you've done that and more.
And yes, I'm sure it did.
Did you ever stop to think, and then forget to start again?
I have held off on posting any further reminiscences, musings, or anything else because I'm waiting to hear if there is further information from Briant, and because they would turn out to be pedestrian and maudlin, and Joe would just find them laughable.
I would like to see Joe, in a pearl-grey suit with a carnation in his lapel, walking down the High Street of Oxford and imparting some wisdom to Sebastian Flyte and Charles Ryder. Maybe someday.

Jesus, Bill. Every time someone posts something like this I get choked all over again. This is a sad, but equally inspiring, time.
