I hope your Bud is doing better, Ian. There is no way to respond to unconditional love except to return it, yes?
What a fine lesson these dogs teach us...

We have a holistic vet, and he says YES! Animals, as well as people, often do respond to cranberry juice. But it needs to be diluted about 1/3... AND, if you can get them to take it. Most animals do not like the taste of veggies and citrus, without much (often a hypo-liquid) coaxing. (Our coyote is the exception ... she will eat pizza, tacos, and most anything else I put out for her, since she knows I won't poison her.)
(BTW -- she's the one a neighbor kid shot with an arrow from his deck, BRAGGED about it, and she's still living with it, two years later. He, unfortunately, suffered a terrible accident -- he stole his dad's car, went down to Hollywood to meet a girl, got drunk and stoned on drugs, and rolled the car on his way back home; he's now paralized from the neck down. KARMA's a bitch!)
