In a collision of 21st-century science and decades-old conspiracy theories, a research team that includes a former top FBI scientist is challenging the bullet analysis used by the government to conclude that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone in assassinating President John F. Kennedy in 1963.

The "evidence used to rule out a second assassin is fundamentally flawed," concludes a new article in the Annals of Applied Statistics written by former FBI lab metallurgist William A. Tobin and Texas A&M University researchers Cliff Spiegelman and William D. James.

The researchers' re-analysis involved new statistical calculations and a modern chemical analysis of bullets from the same batch Oswald is purported to have used. They reached no conclusion about whether more than one gunman was involved, but urged that authorities conduct a new and complete forensic re-analysis of the five bullet fragments left from the assassination 44 years ago.

I have never agreed with the lone assassin theory. The investigation should be done, though I'm sure that will not happen.

I have never agreed with a lone assassin either, I see that no one in the mainstream has mentioned the E. Howard Hunt tape that was played on Ian's show and he also repeated when he did open lines on Coast recently.

That research sure does go along with the E. Howard Hunt tape. I expect the tape to be totally discredited big time if it ever starts to get out too much. Dear God! We can't have the people seeing that our sacred government is nothing more than a bunch of mobsters, thugs, and thieves can we? Why, that might destroy people's faith in the system, and we can't have that!

New Tape Suggests Kennedy Assassination Inside Job

According to Saint John Hunt, the existence of the tape was unknown by his extended family until its broadcast on "Coast to Coast Live with Ian Punnett" on April 27, 2007. Many of the details of the tape were included in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine published earlier in the month.
