Coercive persuasion has immense power to shape and twist the human mind. We should all know this. Exhibit A is the Jonestown massacre of 40 years ago. It was the largest mass murder of American civilians until the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Yet it’s doubtful we really understand the dangers of the cult mindset or how vulnerable all people are to cult tactics.

If someone commanded you to give your child a lethal dose of poison, you’d probably protect your child and report that homicidal maniac to the authorities. But what would you do if you were trapped in an isolated place for years with hundreds of fellow cultists who complied with the order coming from your venerated leader? And after years of being isolated under that singular influence, you also saw that anybody who hesitated was badgered by him and strong-armed by his armed guards? Then, after the kids were all lying on the ground dead, all of your adult comrades were obeying the final command to commit “revolutionary suicide”?

The Making of a Cult Leader

Early on, Jones was known for his charisma and social activism, with a very strong emphasis on race issues and Marxism. As with all cult leaders, Jones targeted for easy recruitment people who felt alienated and marginalized in society. He made a point of recruiting a large membership of African-Americans. Blacks later made up 70 percent of the Jonestown population.

We pretty much know that if you are of a "Socialist Democrat" nature, that somehow yourself and your Own children have become irrelevant in the outcome of such "beliefs" . In other words, "sacrifice", has become the new "Social Norm" rather it be intentional sharing of the "Kool-Aid" or just throwing yourselves and loved ones down the throat of a volcano , same deal. Somethings remain the same.

Life here is short, before we go on to the next rung of the ladder (or not). The good news is that there ,where survivors, I hope I'm ,one of them! Wishing Peace and Prosperity on everyone, is dangerous thing these days.

Last night on Coast to Coast was a young man on by the Name of Daniel Flynn who has taken years of due diligents on the topic of Jim Jones . What an eye poper! Had no idea Jones was connected to the San Francisco's housing authority, very close to Harvey Milk, who has been canonized by the Lefties of San Francisco.
Had no Idea (Hanoi) Jane Fonda, was Supporter of Jones, including money!

Could this happen again? Would one simple call to rid the world of Conservatives or to kill them selves. In my opinion, yes. There are Evil, bat Sh#t crazy people out there, that would be happy to do so.

Today marks the day I have been waiting a decade for. Cult City: Jim Jones, Harvey Milk, and 10 Days That Shook San Francisco, my sixth book, officially becomes available today. I toiled over it, off and on, for the last decade. That's a record for me, and one I do not seek to ever surpass. The writing came mostly in my attic. The research primarily took place at the California Historical Society, San Francisco Public Library, and Library of Congress. I interviewed about 30 eyewitnesses to history, including one of three people still alive—and one of nine total 40 years ago—in Jonestown when the killing began, Dan White’s chief of staff who detailed a startling confession of violence that his boss made to him, and former friends and rivals of Harvey Milk who shared his homosexuality but not a fondness for him. Forty years later, the New Left never gets old nor ever is held accountable.

Forty years ago this past Sunday more than 900 men, women, and children either killed themselves or were murdered in Jonestown, Guyana. Geography buffs will note that Jonestown is just east of Venezuela, where yet another crazed left-wing experiment is being played out today, though on a much larger scale and hence the prospect of death on an even grander scale is still possible in that once prosperous country.

Yet forty years ago on November 18 the deaths were not over. In San Francisco, the hometown of Jonestown’s colony of death, there were still more deaths to be carried out. Harvey Milk, a local political charlatan, and George Moscone, San Francisco’s mayor, would be gunned down nine days later. It was all part of a festival of carnage that was going on in the City by the Bay, and surely it is still going on there today though not on the grand scale of Jonestown. Cities under Democratic control have a way of producing death and destruction. We know Chicago is dripping with blood, but San Francisco still has its moments.
