1394 Connection a Security Risk?

Post by SetiCruncher » 09-19-2006 04:00 AM

Is the 1394 Connection (Firewire Card) Net adapter a security risk while enabled?

Its listed as a Connected Network Connection.

Does anyone know if this is a security risk that should be disabled when not using firewire, or does it pose no risk and can be safely ignored?

Thanks, any input appreciated.

No SC, it's safe. It's just another type of hot connection, like USB - except faster. Many video cameras, external HDDs and other devices have firewire ports for quick data transfer. It's no more dangerous than your USB ports.

Thanks Dale,
