Saved by the horn! One SW Indiana field mouse on U.S. 41

I hope you like this as much as I did.

Here's my Tweets to WEHT Channel 25's great* chief meterologist right after the station was asking their viewers the name of a large hawk leaving a tall tree at that TV station in Henderson, Kentucky. 8)

Here my description of "saved by the horn" on Twitter and then an explantion of the Twitter jargon used.

Thnx Wayne! :) US 41@OKtown a red tail left the median with a Mouse. In my path I honked; it's talons opened; M ranback2median!

At Oaktown, Indiana on US 41, the Dixie Bee Line of highway fame, a red tailed hawk sitting in the median had just caught a field mouse. It arose off the grass and flew his or her breakfast toward the northbound lanes in front of my load of Kentucky logger's black walnut logs. It would cross my path well ahead of my rig to safely make it without being hit. I have a continuing habit of honking at resting hawks at rest on a fence post, light poles, etc.; they come unglued!

Just as it was crossing the highway over the zipper/center line I hit the big horns! At about 7 feet high and to my surprise it's tallons opened and the field mouse fell onto the center line and it ran fast directly back into the median :!:

You just needed to be in my log truck's cab to see that happen!

MK II :D

*My synchronous catch of the spoken word "great": Just as I edited in the word "great" ahead of "chief meteorologist" above. I was tuned into tech journalist Bryan Lunduke talking to Jimmy Church on his show Fade to Black. And then Bryan spoke the word "great" just as I typed the "t"! 8) Isn't that neat when that happens to all of us so often? As you know sometimes a word is read when heard on radio or TV and then typed out that are EXTREMELY obscure :!: 8)

Jimmy's  show is also found here under Conspiracies and Black Ops.........

Jimmy Church always ends his shows by saying, 8) "Gobekli Teppe!" :D
