Carnahan Leads Blunt in MO

Big, big, BIG news in Missouri. Robin Carnahan is leading Roy Blunt 43-42. But in a state that broke for McCain, this is significant. Blunt is as right wing as they come, and has had the religious base fooled since the mid-90s (I personally witnessed how he wooed the Missouri Baptist Convention), although in his personal life he doesn't exactly seem like a good Baptist. Blunt was just about the only top-level Republican in the Foley and Madoff scandals that escaped unscathed. That may be about to change. Perhaps the most revealing number from this poll is that he only leads among Republicans by one point!

Ready to make Liebermann obsolete? Anyone? Bueller?
