Long Term Predictions

Since I wrote one just now, let's gather some long-term predictions. Then the FF has to survive until we see one way or another, right?

The world will be covered in metal, all beings will be partially metal, all plants will be a mixture of biology and nano-structure, all sentient beings will be trans-animal, part robot, part life form. Any parts of our environment we destroy we will replace with artificial life. I see a pool of mercury, with robotic dragonflies being "eaten" by robotic birds flying over robotobiological fish. All of them emitting the precisely specified amount of carbon "waste" which is permissible for each species. If a natural species goes outside of acceptable limits, well, a cull is in order. Perhaps they are a candidate for.... replacement.

Google Glasses will become popular and there will be those who wear them and grow even more indifferent to their fellow human beings than is happening now. Anti-indifference communities will spring up, with members taking a vow not to communicate over computers whenever possible.

We will insidiously continue to destroy the earth until it is no longer habitable. We will discover a planet that can support human life. We will conquer its dwellers and inhabit the planet until we render it uninhabitable. We will continue our quest until we reach a road block to infinity and the cosmos will rid itself of us.

We Will be back in space in the next 2years. In what form?
Might just be tourism?

Starting around 2030 we will begin a "Golden Age".

Increased glacial melting will result in increasingly severe coastal storms and flooding. Residents of coastal communities will find it much more expensive to live along the coasts due to increases in insurance premiums. The government will start to default on rebuilding programs of coastal communities, forcing people to start a move away from the coastlines along the eastern seaboard and Gulf coasts........
