This is my first time joining the group here - tuned in a bit late because it's a beautiful day in Manila - in the 80s and we went to Manila Bay to be by the sea for lunch. It's about 4 pm here now - although in the States, I'm not sure what time it is. Great being with you all!!

Hi Shirley - yes - our weather has been exceptionally nice right now.But later in the year, in the summer months, we can begin getting typhoons once again. Hope they are not as bad as the ones we had in 2006 - although I'm not sure about what will happen. I was worried about Florida - where my family lives and the storms there - pretty scary stuff.

It's so early in the am for you - you must be feeling sleepy by now?

Actually I am wide awake and am off work tomorrow so I can sleep in, but the problem is I usually wake up early anyway.

Time to stay on topic folks.

Shirl, the SETI Team that Art used to kinda sponsor , are you on that, and is it still active? I remember when it was a really big deal.......haven't heard much about it lately.

Yes Patty that is the one, not as big as it was, Art doesn't promote it any longer.

I've often wondered if we are receiving all kinds of signals but we're not able to receive them because our methods of receiving signals are so primitive compared to higher advanced civilizations out there. Maybe in our ant like way we are not capable of receiving these signals yet!!

I agree Fish, they communicate mentally not by radio, we are the ones who are primitive.

That was back when I had first gotten a computer, I think. I had a slow dial-up and always wished I knew more about it, and could have joined. He was always very excited about it.:)
