Hey, Meg. It's an update problem. New software installed on server - and basically the entire gallery needs to be redone. At some point in the future, this will be done.

Maybe should remove the link for now. Thanks.

If it turns out to be a bandwidth issue or space I'd be more than happy to host the pics myself. I miss not being able to travel down memory lane so to speak.

Meg - the calendar is an admin thing, and we have not used it in years. What would we put up there?

There are many things we could do to change the format of the forum. To bring the entire thing up to the newest version would be a huge undertaking - requiring the tweaking of many codes if it were to at all resemble some of the custom pages here, etc. and an upgrade to mySQL 5.

Everything here is a custom coding. Every line, every color - even the default forum view. RC customized it over hours of work. And the custom pages for Art Bell, ORR, Dreamland, etc..

We would have great functionality - but the FF would look like just about every other forum running the current V-Bulletin version. It's easy to read, which is good. Most options on the newer versions are either light or dark. We're kind of in between.

Also - we would have to survive two upgrades as this version is so old. First we would have to bring it up to 3.0 - and then upgrade to what - 3.6 or 3.8?

We will have to do this eventually. If we had the funds, we could have V-bulletin do the work.

But hang in there. We will need to do this within the next several months.

Should be fun, and a change that would be pretty exciting. We could use some 'creative excitement' around here.

Actually the only reason I mentioned the calender is because I believe there is a bigger problem as birthdays are no longer being displayed.

Well, Mike - turned off the 'birthday script' as it was automagically serving up birthdays for about 4300 people who are off someone in the mists of time - and it did not have much relevance.

We used to have a birthday watcher and greeter, but that got a bit cutsey.

You could start a thread here for everyone who cares to be recognized on their 'name day' - to sign up. And we could affix it to the top of the Community Thread here to be scanned by those who wished to participate.

Other than that - it's Grog everyday around here.
