Benediction for troubling times
The 23rd Psalm, whatever spiritual path one follows, is beautiful and uplifting...
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

I found this on the net while surfing. I enjoyed the commentary as well. There is hope.
Well, better late than never, I suppose... Joe Quinn.

As long as there is a lack of the inner discipline that brings calmness of mind, no matter what external facilities or conditions you have, they will never give you the feeling of joy and happiness that you are seeking. On the other hand, if you possess this inner quality of calmness of mind, a degree of stability within, then even if you lack various external facilities that you would normally consider necessary for happiness, it is still possible to live a happy and joyful life.

The promise Creator gives us
Comes with every new day,
The gift of breath, the gift of life,
Opportunities in a vast array.
How do we count our blessings,
Through the choices life can bring?
Is it through joyful lessons?
Or the fears to which we cling?
Are we learning to show gratitude,
For the victories over human pain?
By honoring the feeling choices,
We grasp the will we've regained.
Can we change our focus,
With no need to defend?
Acknowledging joy and sorrow,
Without judging foe or friend?
Tomorrow promises the fullness
Of every human way to know:
How we master each challenge
Determines our balance -
reflecting how we grow.
The Promise of Tomorrow

Dance to heal the earth. Not just when you're dancing, but always. Live the dance, whenever you move, in all you do, dance to heal the earth.
Why has PW bumped this thread? Is she scared? I am.
A favorite quote: God loves you as He found you. But He has no intention of letting you stay there.
Edited to add: it was Linnea who re-activated this thread!! Did the Health Care news scare you? Did it scare you?

Did you ever stop to think, and then forget to start again?
Hi Live.
I join you in being scared about the immediate future. We have lots of good reasons to be right now. Yet, I know in the final analysis, no matter what, we are going to come through whatever difficulties we face stronger, more secure, and better than before. We always have and we always will. As long as we have faith and trust in God, our people, our friends, and our selves it will be so. Know that because it is true, my wonderful friend.

Actually, Live365 - it was joyful thoughts of Art's upcoming interview with Robert Lanza on the nature of consciousness which inspired me to bring this thread back up. (Friday, March 26th)
I have no fears about the health care reform measure. There are so many creative new energies bubbling up everywhere in the world to counter the darkness. I feel a balance and adjustment in the planet - a rushing up to the top, and a leaving of reactionary fears behind...

Vernal Equinox...
Yes, I thought the same thing, and said so to Corvid tonight as we watched the vote on C-Span. I said to him, "I think it's rather auspicious that this happened during the Spring Equinox." Maybe that's why this whole thing has taken so long. Maybe it needed to be done at THIS particular time. And yes, that's exactly what the equinoxes are about: balance. Light and dark are held in perfect balance at the time of the equinox, and as we pass through the vernal equinox (this one), we turn toward the light. These are all good signs, very good, my friends. No fear.
