RECAP
Time Travel
Show Audio
Guests: Ronald L. Mallett, Lauren Weinstein
Physics Professor Ronald Mallett discussed his breakthrough research on time travel, which is based on Einstein's theories of relativity. "If we can control gravity with a device, then we can actually control time, as well, and that could lead to a machine," he said. The force of gravity is actually the bending of empty space, and the energy of light can create gravity, therefore light can potentially manipulate time, he explained.

Mallett's idea for a machine involves using a circulating light beam with a series of mirrors, that can twist empty space. According to Einstein, if you bend space, then you bend time. "If I twist space, I can twist the line of time into a loop," connecting the past to the future, he said. When a person travels back to the past, they will have altered the past, so the future may not play out in the way the way it originally did. This is known as the 'Butterfly Effect' where some little thing leads to a chain of reactions that alters the future, he detailed.

A time machine could only travel as far back as when the machine was first turned on. So for instance, if a machine was invented this year, time travelers from 2030 could only travel as far back as 2011, he continued. One of the more practical and important uses for time travel would be to send information back in time, rather than a person-- like an early warning device for earthquakes or tsunamis that could save the lives of thousands of people, Mallett noted. He also touched on the time travel work of other scientists including Kip Thorne, who looks at using wormholes to create a path to the past, and Richard Gott, who theorizes about 'cosmic strings.'

Technology Update
First hour guest, Internet privacy and technology expert Lauren Weinstein commented on a new kind of electronic tattoo, as well as other technology stories. The ultrathin patch placed on the skin could prove useful for medical monitoring of the body, but the technology also has potential for misuse, with unauthorized people being able to read the information, he noted. He also spoke about controversies around BART's wireless shutdown in order to quell a protest, and Google Plus' requirement for people to use their real names.

News segment guests: Jeff Nelken, Brad Steiger

WALTER CRUTTENDEN is an amateur theoretical archaeo-astronomer and author of the binary theory of precession. As Executive Director of the Binary Research Institute he researches the celestial mechanics of the precession of the equinox, as well as myth and folklore related to this phenomenon. He is the writer-producer of The Great Year, a PBS broadcast documentary film (narrated by James Earl Jones) that explores evidence of astronomical cycles of time known to cultures throughout the ancient world.

Most recently Cruttenden wrote Lost Star of Myth and Time, a book that provides an alternative view of history based on the solar system’s motion through space. It is his belief that the myth and folklore depicting a repeating cycle of Golden Ages and Dark Ages may have a basis in fact, due to the alternating stellar forces that affect Earth as our solar system moves in a 24,000-year binary (dual star) orbit.

THE SEARCH FOR THE BINARY STAR
Cruttenden frequently speaks to groups about the ancient mystery of the precession of the equinox. His talks explain how cutting edge scientific evidence challenges the current theory of precession. Due to the work of Cruttenden and others, interest in ancient knowledge and solar system theory is on the rise as more people become aware of the importance of our present Age and the potential it holds for humankind. Cruttenden founded the Galileo Awards to further stimulate research and interest in precession and help in the search for our Sun’s binary companion. Cruttenden was featured on several television and radio programs, including CNBC, CNFN, KOCE. Recently he has given talks at the Self-Realization Fellowship in Los Angeles, East-West Bookstore in Palo Alto, University of Virginia, University of Arizona, University of California at San Diego, Newport Film Festival and the Society for Scientific Exploration.

In 2004, Cruttenden founded and appeared at the Conference on Precession and Ancient Knowledge (CPAK) in Vancouver, BC, Canada along with other authors and researchers: John Major Jenkins, John N. Harris, Karl-Heinz Homann & Uwe Homann. He sponsored and participated in the Second Annual CPAK conference in Sedona, Arizona in November, 2005 which included as speakers Graham Hancock, the author of Fingerprints of the Gods, geologist and author Robert Schoch, known for his work redating the Great Sphinx in Egypt, John Major Jenkins, author of Maya Cosmogenesis, and several other experts on ancient cultures. The 2006 conference is currently scheduled to take place in October in Newport Beach, California.

Cruttenden is married, has four sons and resides in Southern California. He enjoys surfing, hiking, and esoteric studies.

A BRIEF HISTORY OF HISTORY

Ancient folklore from around the world rings with two resonating themes: History moves in cycles with alternating Golden and Dark Ages, and the slow movement of the stars across the sky, the Precession of the Equinox, is the cause and timekeeper of these cycles.

For years we have heard that these are only myths, there was no Golden Age and precession is just a wobbling of the Earth’s axis. Now Lost Star of Myth and Time shows evidence the Ancients were not just weaving fanciful tales - science is on the verge of an amazing discovery - our Sun has a companion star carrying us through a great cycle of stellar influences. If true, it means the Ancients were right and our views of space and time and the history of civilization will never be the same. More than that, it would mean we are now at the dawn of a new age in human development and world conditions.

The Yugas
Keys to Understanding Our Hidden Past, Emerging Energy Age, and Enlightened Future

Joseph Selbie & David Steinmetz

With 2012 around the corner, millions are wondering if we are due for a world-changing global shift, and what the future holds for mankind. Paramhansa Yogananda (author of the classic Autobiography of a Yogi) and his teacher, Sri Yukteswar, offered key insights into this subject nearly a century ago.

They presented a fascinating explanation of the rising and falling eras that our planet cycles through every 24,000 years. According to their teachings, we have recently passed through the low ebb in that cycle and are moving forward to a higher age – an Energy Age that will revolutionize the world. They declared that we would live in a time of great social and spiritual change, and that much of what we believed to be fixed and true – our entire way of looking at the world – would ultimately be transformed and uplifted.

In The Yugas, Joseph Selbie and David Steinmetz present substantial and intriguing evidence from the findings of historians and scientists that demonstrate the truth of Yukteswar and Yogananda’s revelations.

“Move over Copernicus, another revolution is underway! The Yugas will not only change the way we look at history, it will change the way we see ourselves and the world around us. This is a wisdom whose time has come. The startling revelations and sweeping vision of Selbie and Steinmetz deliver a story so timeless it will challenge and inspire generations to come!
“Our forefathers etched the phrase “Novus Ordo Seclorum” ("New Order of the Ages") on the Great Seal of our new nation, but few historians have understood its meaning. By resurrecting a lost knowledge, with exquisite and provocative detail, Selbie and Steinmetz unleash its full power and promise. The Yugas . . . I absolutely loved this book!”

—Walter Cruttenden, author of The Lost Star of Myth and Time

There’s No Debate: Elvis Is Not Alive

Patrick Lacy
Volume 19.4, December 2009
“Elvis is alive.” We’ve heard this refrain for years. It is a well-traveled companion of popular culture. The notion that Elvis faked his death is as ubiquitous as claims that a giant-headed alien was subjected to an autopsy at Roswell or that Sasquatch roams the forests of any number of

locales around the world. It is so ubiquitous, in fact, that many people simply assume that there are facts and figures to support the idea. So what are the actual facts? What is the basis of the debate? Is it really possible that Elvis faked his death and went into hiding only to reveal himself through various means many years later?

The answer is a resounding no. There are no facts to support the theory that Elvis faked his death, and the debate itself is not valid. It is time to set the record straight and properly frame the issue because this faulty debate has gone on far too long. Many Elvis fans are tired of it, the tabloids seem to have become tired of it, and certainly the Presley family has heard enough about it.

Let’s begin our look at the “Elvis is alive” debate with a stroll through Dealey Plaza, where in November 1963 one of the most complex, evidence-based debates in history was born.

The Texas School Book Depository still stands today on the corner of Elm and N. Houston Streets in Dallas, Texas. On November 22, 1963, bullets allegedly fired from the sixth floor of the Depository pierced the late autumn air and changed the course of history. President John F. Kennedy had been assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald. The facts were quickly assembled, disseminated, and written in the history books. Oswald did it; no question about it. But then came the questions and the alternate fact patterns. Could Oswald really have accomplished such a feat of marksmanship? What about the eyewitnesses who saw smoke and heard gunshots from the infamous “grassy knoll” on the northwest side of the plaza? What is fact, what is rumor, and what is strictly fiction? The debate continues to this day, but the debate is nonetheless based on the evidence and on one’s interpretation of that evidence. Thus, facts guide the debate and help to illustrate the shades of gray that comprise its mosaic.
