big upgrade and spambot changes
Hi guys, did a big forum upgrade, and added a proper recaptcha to registrations. Sorry I am here so infrequently, but I am always watching to keep the board working as well as I can. Hope you are having a great summer!

so yeah the theme totally broke. I set it to the default one for now. Sorry for this, I will work to restore the basic style soon. Hang in there.

Hi Fan - Whoa....... what a color rush THAT was. Took me a while to figure out what happened. Thanks for all your hard work!!!!!

Thanks Fan for looking out for us! Much appreciated. New Boards are such a "Shock" to my system, anything "different" ya know!?

nothing should be too different... lots of little things. We are on the latest version now. I notice it logs me out of forum if I am idle for a while. Report to me anything you see that is broken or strange pls (other than theme looking wrong).

Hey Now Fan, Thanks for keeping the forum ship shape!
I could get used to the default theme but going back to basics eventually if not sooner is fine by me. Either way as long as everything's working reliably, it's no biggie
It's like dealing with a Major Upgrade now and then is one thing, coping with General Disarray on a daily basis is another KWIM?

on a different point we were getting hit with 100+ spammers a week registering. I hope I have now fixed this.

Re: big upgrade and spambot changes
Thanks Riddick, I'd never seen that Monty Python skit. I'm still laughing as I type this post!
Minnesota's Hormel Foods' "Shoulder Pork And Ham" was a diet staple to a much beleaguered Great Britain and a very mean USSR's huge steamroller headed West over the top of a "one of" Percoset drug fueled nazi Blitzkrieg during World War II!
MK II, the former pig hauler of 1,500 to 1,800 head per week for 10 years! Damn! That was a lot of potential SPAM, eh?
Fan, I still deal with the occasional spammer at Supernatural Earth in the UK.

Re: big upgrade and spambot changes
Would you believe that's only a relatively recent rendition of the skit that first appeared on their TV show 47 years ago? Long-time Python player Carol Cleveland took the role the late Graham Chapman had in the original, which you can watch rite cheerMalaria_Kidd II wrote: ↑07-15-2017 06:27 AMThanks Riddick, I'd never seen that Monty Python skit. "Watch rite cheer!" I liked that notation from a Wisconsinite!

47 years ago how did I miss this on PBS TV.
