FBI rejects FOIA request for Hillary Clinton email docs

The FBI is declining to turn over files related to its investigation of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s emails by arguing a lack of public interest in the matter.

Ty Clevenger, an attorney in New York City, filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request in March of 2016 asking for a variety of documents from the FBI and the Justice Department, including correspondence exchanged with Congress about the Clinton email investigation.

But in a letter sent this week and obtained by Fox News, the head of the FBI’s Records Management Division told Clevenger that the bureau has “determined you have not sufficiently demonstrated that the public’s interest in disclosure outweighs personal privacy interests of the subject.”

Interesting Doka. Never before have I heard that the issue of whether a law was broken was contingent upon whether or not the public has an interest in the case......... That the public's interest has been taken-up by North Korean nuclear threats and Hurricane Harvey does not diminish whether or not a crime has been committed.....

Yes Doka, the rules are fluid - as you say, according to whoever is in power. If you're expecting the MSM to be consistent in the application of coverage and applying various litmus tests - it ain't gonna happen. MSNBC (for example) is still reporting ad nauseum on issues they have had with Trump since Day 1, while sufficiently eulogized and had a Viking funeral for Hillary's foibles to leave no doubt at all that they ever plan to discuss the issues of her breaking the law.
