Ideally I'd say it'd be best to be far far away from any major metropolitan area long before the societal fertilizer hits the propeller - so much as I had the 'opportunity' to see some seriously disturbing deterioration up close and personal working the Census in Milwaukee more than a decade ago, in general I have no reason to believe the situation since then's gotten anything but worse -

As it is, living about mid-way between Milwaukee and Madison right on the Interstate 94 corridor, we'd be more than apt to get spill-over sh!t from both sides. Though I don't know anyone who's getting ready to pack up and head for the hills, I do know folks who're setting up to take defensive measures against attacks if needs be...

Even as I imagine homeowners will have a better time of it than apartment dwellers, along with any other safety preparations? If funds are there for remodeling, fitting the house with a basement bunker or 'safe room' of some sort for some extra security wouldn't be a bad idea - a modern-day "fallout shelter" of sorts without the nukes.

Here are some ways to know if you're a true Louisianian...

1. You can properly pronounce Lafayette, Bossier, Natchitoches, Opelousas, Shongaloo, Pontchartrain, Ouachita,
and you know that New Orleans doesn't have a long "e" sound anywhere in it

2. You think people who complain about the heat in their states are pansies.

3. A tornado warning siren is your signal to go out in the yard and look for a funnel.

4. You know that the true value of a parking space is not
determined by the distance to the door, but by the
availability of shade.

5. Stores don't have bags, they have sacks.

6. You've seen people wear bib overalls at funerals.

7. You think everyone from a bigger city has an accent.

8. You measure distance in minutes.

9. Little Smokies are something you serve only for special
occasions.

10. You go to the lake because you think it is like going to
the ocean.

11. You listen to the weather forecast before picking out an
outfit.

12. You know cowpatties are not made of beef.

13. Someone you know has used a LSU football schedule to
plan their wedding date.

14. You have known someone who has a belt buckle bigger
than your fist.

15. You aren't surprised to find movie rental, ammunition, and bait all in the same store.

16. A Mercedes Benz isn't a status symbol. A Ford F-250
Extended Bed Crew Cab Powerstroke is a status symbol.

17. You know everything goes better with 'Tony's'.

18. You learned how to shoot a gun before you learned how to multiply

19. You actually get these jokes and are "fixin" to send them to your friends.

20. You're not offended by the term "coonass." If anything,
it's a compliment.

Finally, you are 100% Louisianian if you have ever had this
conversation:

"You wanna coke?"
"Yeah."
"What kind?"
"Dr Pepper."
"You have forgotten the face of your father." Roland Deschain

Wow. Sometimes time does fly. 4 years since I last posted here.
Well we're 17 years into the 2000's, and several theories have been proven wrong;
The world didn't end with the Mayan calendar. ( Did anyone really think it would?)
Obama was not the last President. ( Last career politician to be elected, maybe...)
I'm not dead. Just been kinda busy in the real world. (If I'm nor working I'm usually riding my Harley.)
No, really. I'm NOT dead.

Hey Now Jon-Marcus! What a pleasant and welcome surprise. Good ta see ya Matie!

Glad to know you're still in The Land Of The Living. So, real world's been keepin' ya busy, eh? We're keepin' it unreal as a skeleton crew can here with just a handful of pirates posting on a regular basis for some time now - But even as 17 years on now other Art Bell/C2C forums have come and gone, not as lively as it once was, for sure, The One And Only Original FF'S *NOT DEAD* yet - HOW 'BOUT DAT!?

Anahoo, time allows, and words of the day, scattered thoughts, or whatever comes to mind and the mood to post strikes you do feel free to make yourself heard here! ARRRH!!

Hi Jon-Marcus. Good to see your post and I believe you are Not dead!

Time certainly does slip away! When younger, time never moved fast enough, now , it's going too fast!

Isaiah 59:21 And as for me, this is my covenant with them, says Yahuah: my Spirit that is upon you, and my words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart out of your mouth, nor out of the mouth of your seed, nor out of the mouth of your seed's seed, says Yahuah, from now on and forever.
"Yahuah bless you and keep you; Yahuah make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; Yahuah turn his face toward you and give you peace.”Sabbath Covenant
