Love this! Heros, both. :D

Pendleton couple reflects on Las Vegas shooting a year later

Images of last year’s mass shooting in Las Vegas still live in Kevin and Elaine Anderson’s brains.

Before the shooting began on Oct. 1, the Pendleton couple basked in a day of country music at the Route 91 Harvest festival. Suddenly a pop, pop, pop punctured the desert night, sending the Andersons and thousands of others diving for cover. Tucked away on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort, the shooter would kill 58 and wound almost 500 people before ending his siege.

Kevin, an emergency medical technician and regional communications director for a medical transportation company called American Medical Response, slipped back into a first responder role. In the aftermath of the shooting, he used his 30 years of EMT experience to pull multiple victims to safety. For his bravery, Anderson received the Oregon Health Authority’s Medal of Valor on Friday night at the Oregon EMT Conference in Salem.

As shots flew, Anderson first rescued off-duty police officer Michael Gracia, who lay gravely injured after being shot in the head. Gracia’s fiancée, Summer Clyburn, had a bullet in her back. The assault continued rapid-fire.

“No one knew where the shooter was,” Elaine said. “Kevin picked up Michael and got him the heck out of there.”

Elaine shepherded Clyburn to safety. Much to Elaine’s terror, Kevin turned to rush back in for other victims.

“Kevin had an instinct to run towards danger and I wanted to run away from it,” Elaine said.

Her husband insists it really wasn’t a choice.

:) "The Andersons learned that Michael Gracia and his fiancée were also in Vegas that weekend. The couples had stayed in touch since the night Kevin carried Michael to safety. Gracia, who recently returned to work at the Ontario (California) Police Department, spent months relearning how to speak. He and his fiancée returned to Vegas that weekend in March to participate in a 5-kilometer run. They met the Andersons for lunch.

“It was so beautiful,” Elaine said. “We spent two hours talking. It was the first time we’d been together since the shooting.”

“It was healing for all of us,” Kevin said.

The Andersons will travel to California in May to attend the wedding of Gracia and Clyburn."

Doka, Each account needs told just like this one of the brave Anderson couple. No one there had a good ending including the many survivors. Since the night will likely never end for all who attended the concert a year ago today. :(

But tonight on October 1st all the casino and hotel marque lights will be turned off in Los Vegas in remembrance.

Matt Drudge reported this today.........

HOMELAND SECURITY
ISIS Warns of Knife Attack 'Surprises' at Concerts

BY BRIDGET JOHNSON OCTOBER 5, 2018 CHAT 329 COMMENTS

Shortly after the one-year anniversary of the mass shooting that targeted an outdoor concert on the Las Vegas Strip, a pro-ISIS media group is circulating an online poster warning of knife attacks at musical events.

Previous releases from Remah Media Production included a January poster showing a jihadist standing in front of a cityscape vowing to "sink America" and another showing jihadists standing in front of a nondescript legislative building vowing that "soon you will taste agony." The group has also released video nasheeds, or songs to inspire terrorists.

In the new poster, a jihadist wearing a suit jacket stands with a large knife behind his back while behind concert-goers whose attention is fixed on the stage.

"Wait for our surprises," warns the text, signed "Islamic State."

In May 2017, a suicide bomber claimed by ISIS killed 22 people leaving an Ariana Grande concert at the Manchester Arena in the UK. Since the Oct. 1, 2017, massacre on a country music festival, ISIS has both claimed and idolized shooter Stephen Paddock, encouraging would-be terrorists to poach from his tactics such as how he used a sniper's perch in a suite on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay to kill 58 people and wound hundreds more.

Al-Qaeda Calls on Western Muslims of South-Central Asian Origin to Attack 'Blasphemous' Targets

Official ISIS media persisted for a few months in claiming responsibility for the massacre. ISIS featured an update on the shooting investigation in a mid-October issue of their al-Naba newsletter, referring to Paddock both by that name and the nom de guerre Abu Abdul Bar al-Amriki, which they bestowed upon the killer the day after the attack. The shooting "highlights the difficulties faced by U.S. cities to protect their own Crusader citizens from attacks that can take unpredictable forms," the newsletter said. Contd. at the link below............

The report goes on to read that the shooter, so deranged, had no interests in any religions or higher power.

Time line video of the shooter's movement and baggage trips!

Post by Malaria_Kidd II » 11-09-2018 09:49 AM

Isn't it long past time for all luggage and baggage to be checked going into motels or hotels? Not likely ever, eh?

Hotel security cam videos and the evil person's movements before October 1, 2017.

Hi MK II, Did you know that there where some survivors of the Vegas shooting, at the recent shooting in California? I just read it, if I find again, I'll post.

Mm! Mm! Mm! Yes, I had heard it and read it. Such a shame and your note is really making the headlines Doka! Matt Drudge had a link to it this morning. The bar was a gathering place for the area's Route 91 Harvest Concert survivors. The evil one (taking mind altering drugs way over prescribed in #'s or not!) frequented the place too!

Here is his last Facebook entry...........
