Here in Philadelphia, we're swamped with ads, mostly for McCain. The "celebrity" ad is getting a lot of play. I'm surprised that McCain thinks he's got a chance in this part of Pennsylvania. He's wasting ad money here, but I guess he plays well to the "Mississippi" part of Pennsy...

Wow Maya! Thanks for the information & personal experience - "knowing" someone who has a positive personal experience makes me feel better about it & might want to reconsider. You said to contact you off the forum, but others might benefit from your advice & knowledge, so I'll...

Another perspective on raw feeding cats

I have over 10 cats of all ages and they all eat raw. I have been feeding raw over 5 years now, and if my vet bills are any indication, the raw diet is the best. I, too, was concerned about the possibility of salmonella, parasites and other beasties. There are two things to keep in mind: first, cats...

Maya - if you are 49 years old and have not learned to drive - why start now? Driving is a defensive art, and you need much experience to stay out of trouble, especially in a large city and its suburbs. Really. If you do wish to get out there in the mix at this stage - I would recommend the safest ...

Need advice on cars

Okey-dokey, I apologize in advance if this is not the right place to post a question like this. Before I ask my question, I want to tell you a little about me. I'm almost 49 years old and I live in Philadelphia. (You may have heard about us - we used to have a football team...:( ) I have managed to ...

I've noticed there are way more lurkers here than actual posters here in any given slice of time. I think the ratio is around 3 to 1. My guess is most those people think your posts are cool. If they didn't like you, there is a fair chance they would say so. Continuer sur! Speaking as a lurker, I do...

Update on my stick collection

Thanks to everyone who offered suggestions on rose culture. I just wanted to bring everyone up-to-date on my stick collection. They were originally roses from Wayside Gardens, but only 1 out of 6 bushes proved viable. So now I have some nice, overpriced sticks in my garden. Wayside Gardens is dodgin...

Cherry, The roses are called "generosa" and they look like the David Austin English roses. They're going into a deep container, so there should be no problem with root space. I have one David Austin rose in my backward (Tamora in a standard form) that is absolutely fabulous. Last year, I c...

Maya - I presume you are talking about roses already planted. In the spring (before plants start leafing or just when they start leafing, I will give my roses a recommended feeding. I use regular rose recommended foods, but last year I forgot and simply gave them a good soaking from the water out o...

Feeding Roses

Calling all rose enthusiasts! Can someone give me some advice on feeding roses? How often do you feed? Can anyone recommend a homemade rose food recipe, or should I stick with commercial rose food? Any particular brand? Is there any advantage feeding dilute formula with each watering (like I would i...

So I should pay my mortgage this month?

Okay, I'm all confused now. I've tried reading through the Zeta Talk drivel, but all I got was a headache.

Are the dates a fake or are we still expecting a pole shift on Sunday, 6/1? I need to adjust my work schedule for next week if we're going to have a global cataclysm.

:D

Sorry, but I can't see anything other than two really fine looking cats, especially the snowshoe in the front. They're so good looking that I can't take my eyes off them! (I guess I'm more cat-centric than ghost-centric anyway.)

[QUOTE](If you live on a high floor in NYC or have good reception try WPHT out of Philadelphia at 1210AM.

Actually, try Cleveland at 1100AM (I think) which has a good, strong signal. Philadelphia cuts the first hour of the show on weeknights and doesn't replay it at 5 am like it used to.
