My State is Definately run by Fascist Thugs. We even have a "Nazi Hot Line" where you can turn in your Friends, Family and Neighbors. The Self-Rightious feed on that one, like crazy. People where so brainwashed in Germany they where so happy to help get the Jews to the ovens, It was Their "Duty". The Nazies needed the locals "Help" to carry out such massive carnaige.

I have to ask - have you ever seen anyone die from COVID?

Hospitals here are overwhelmed and now even Republican controlled states are finally waking up to the reality that sometimes (like when yelling Fire!!! in a crowded theater) that common sense and public safety has prevail over nonsense.

As a country we have lost five times more Americans in less than a year than in al f the years of the Vietnam War combined. Healthcare workers around the country go back to work day after day to try to make a difference and may can't even get tested, or enough supplies to protect themselves

Grow-up for crying out loud...........

I'm sure you see a lot of dead and dying Corvid patients , being an X-ray tek. Your #s are right off CNN, I do question those numbers. I do not deny it is a nasty . But, I am also concerned about families and friends being torn apart by isolation, tis the season of suicides, ought to be a big season for that, losing their businesses, their jobs, a way of life.

I can always tell when you have been in contact with your "Hate" coach, you get snippier than usual. Tell her you need to be more subtile. It also makes you appear more short sighted. Trauma in life is always a bit more complicated. Now, back to turning your neighbors in. Remember consequences come from many directions.

Raggedyann, I don't even need to look at any of your respones, to know, your "Rants" and name calling, you are as predictable as sunrise and sunset. Hostel and full of Hate is all you have to offer. A question for you ? As A Candian citizen, living in Canada, how are things going for you in your Country? You have, excellent health care of course, how many months does it take you to see a Doctor, unless of course you are dying or bleeding profusly? I Take it you have no health care people in your own country to thank for their service? Do you have access to groceries, and daily needs at an affordable price? I understand your inflation rate is getting into the skyrocket range? I understand, the difficulty in answering any thing from me without your usual name calling, cussing, and little honesty, but I can always hope. I wish you to be happy, while getting everthing you have been demanding.

-A family doc appt. is a 3 to 4 day wait.
-We have 'walk-in' clinics if you can't see your family doc. or don't have one. Appt occurs within an hour or so. Recently I wanted to see my doc for possible shingles and he was away so I called a walk-in clinic and a doc called me back within a half-hour. I sent a pic of my shingles to his email address so he could confirm that I did indeed have shingles. After he gave me directions about how to deal with it, he phoned in a prescription to my pharmacy and it was delivered to me free of delivery charge the same day.
- Specialist appt takes a lot longer because we have such a shortage of them. I recently had carpel tunnel surgery and it took 4 months from first appt to surgery.

The only thing I paid out of pocket for any of the above care was the prescription.

I happily pay a higher tax than you might pay for never having to worry about receiving excellent health care.

BTW I didn't thank Kbot for his service to suffering Americans, I praised him. What makes you think I don't thank Canadian health care workers? I was in emergency a couple of weeks ago for some other friggin senior problem (2020 annus horribilis) and I told all of the staff that helped me they were fabulous! It seemed like so little for so much.

It's better to compare previous epidemic figures to this one, than it is to compare it to a war.
This is from an article in the WSJ:

https://www.wsj.com/articles/covid-out- ... minor_pos1

Another one, which I can't find offhand, says that if you compare COVID 19 to Sars, it's much worse. If you compare it to the flu of 1918, it's much smaller.

Because, well, you know, it's all fake, and TPTB just want to make everyone's holiday celebration as miserable as they can.....

Mayo Clinic's northwest Wisconsin hospitals placing beds in ambulance garage, lobbies

To expand capacity at its northwest Wisconsin hospitals, Mayo Clinic Health System is placing beds in waiting rooms, surgical spaces and a heated parking garage, according to Wisconsin Public Radio.

The rush to boost bed capacity comes two weeks after the health system warned that 100 percent of its beds were occupied at its hospitals in northwest Wisconsin and more than three weeks after it began postponing elective care.

Mayo Clinic's hospital in Eau Claire, Wis., set up four emergency beds with privacy curtains in an ambulance garage due to an influx of COVID-19 patients. The hospital said all four beds were filled Nov. 18, but haven't needed to be used since, according to WQOW.

Additionally, a surge at Mayo's hospital in Barron, Wis., forced it to move beds into a room designated for preparing patients for surgery

Colorado governor allows at-capacity hospitals to transfer, deny patients

Colorado Gov. Jared Polis signed an executive order Nov. 23 that allows hospitals at capacity to stop admitting new patients and transfer patients to other hospitals, according to The Hill.

The executive order allows the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment to direct at-capacity hospitals to transfer patients to another facility without first getting written permission from the patient.

"Unfortunately, given the increase in infections, the number of persons seeking medical treatment at hospitals may far exceed the capacity of any given hospital," the order states.

'The exhaustion is palpable': Hospital chiefs plead for support as staff resilience runs thin

The ability of a hospital or health system to maintain appropriate staffing levels is one of the most pressing challenges executives now face amid a nationwide resurgence of COVID-19. As such, many are making pleas to their state for help.

At the start of the pandemic, securing personal protective equipment and supplies were top priorities for hospital leaders. But Bruce White, the CEO of Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon, Ohio, told knoxpages in a Nov. 21 report, "That's not the issue now, it is manpower. It is the skilled resources."

He added: "Every day, [front-line staff] do miracles. But they can't perform magic. They're tired, and they're doing a great job, but they do need the support of our state. They need folks to do the right thing, so that we don't overwhelm our hospital resources."

It's a sentiment echoed by the industry's largest hospital and clinical groups. In a Nov. 19 open letter from the American Medical Association, American Hospital Association and American Nurses Association, the organizations pleaded with Americans to do their part to protect healthcare workers by scaling back traditional holiday gatherings to mitigate COVID-19 spread.

1,000 Cleveland Clinic workers sidelined due to COVID-19

Cleveland Clinic has about 1,000 employees away from work due to COVID-19, the health system told Becker's Nov. 23.

The count includes 925 workers in Ohio and other workers across the health system, which also has locations in Florida and Las Vegas. It is an increase from about 800 Cleveland Clinic employees in Ohio reported sidelined as of Nov. 16.

Cleveland Clinic spokesperson Andrea Pacetti said the increase in the number of employees affected by COVID-19 reflects more spreading of the virus in the community and in Ohio, and most affected employees are contracting the virus in the community.

And more..........

UW Health's open letter to residents: 'We are, quite simply, out of time'

Thousands of employees from UW Health, the academic health system for the University of Wisconsin in Madison, issued an open letter to state residents Nov. 22 pleading for cooperation with COVID-19 safety measures.

"Wisconsin is in a bad place right now with no sign of things getting better without action. We are, quite simply, out of time," the letter reads. "Without immediate change, our hospitals will be too full to treat all of those with the virus and those with other illnesses or injuries. Soon you or someone you love may need us, but we won't be able to provide the life-saving care you need, whether for COVID-19, cancer, heart disease or other urgent conditions. As health care providers, we are terrified of that becoming reality."

UW Health calls for people to avoid gatherings not just with strangers, but extended family members; wear a mask; and wash hands often.

"You've heard these recommendations a thousand times, but if the thousand and first time makes an impact it's all worth it. If you stop the spread to one person, it's worth it," the letter says.

Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers declared a new public health emergency Nov. 20 due to the capacity and staffing limitations for the state's hospitals. More than a third of Wisconsin hospitals were operating at peak capacity and unable to admit new patients as of Nov. 20, and over a third of hospitals in the state reported critical staffing shortages. The governor also extended the statewide mask requirement the same day.
