Everything should theoretically be back to normal, no need to man the lifeboats just yet.

Let me take this opportunity to say that I have taken steps to ensure the indefinite viability of the forum. It is almost impossible to lose it now. It is stored on amazon S3, 2 other cloud systems, my own triple-redundant backup system here.

We can get knocked down, but never for the count.

Please let me know if you still see invisible threads or any weirdness. Thanks.

We were down again for a longish time. This should be it for the time being. Today's downtime was a planned migration, we are on a new computer in a different datacenter. Hopefully stability will return. Sorry for the inconvenience, trust me I have gotten a few more gray beard hairs the past week or so.

Well, FFolks, with only hours to go, unless the Computing Cavalry suddenly arrives and pulls off a last minute rescue and revival, The Deuce will be in its 3rd week of good as goneness.going into 2015 -

Not to say The One And Only Original here is anywhere near slipping into any similar state of demise, yet even as much sudden ills may befall a forum, just remember The FF Lifeboat is only a click away!

Indeed, lifeboats are good, yet for the most part and in large an afterthought insofar the great care taken by our Trusty Fan Cap'n has so successfully safeguarded us against the need for one, eh? :)

OTOH, Ahoy hoy! Looking thru the spyglass, appears The Deuce is currently in a host-enforced lockout situation. For all intents lost at sea, long term survival unknown, search and rescue teams are on standby in case the ship never makes it back into port.

Indeed, "The Deuce" is the nickname for FF2, the spinoff from the One and Only Original we have here (As can be gleaned from the entirety of post #38)...

Bottom line? NOT only IS The FF Lifeboat up and running, under NO circumstances should it EVER be confused for The Deuce, or vice versa! My 'Ahoy hoy' aside above was only meant as a comment on the FF2's ongoing ills -

Talk about a forum that could use a lifeboat - Could the folks in charge there care any LESS about the ship they supposedly look after??

I love this forum and will do everything I can to keep her afloat. I may not post here as much as I'd like, but I am always watching.
