Art Bell Archived shows WEB Site
I have a couple of years of Art's show in MP3 format. About 8 Gig worth. Anyone know where I might be able to store them on the web? Anyone trading shows? I have downloaded some show using winMX but I am disappointed in the speed and quality of some of the downloads. Email me if you have some suggestions of would like to swap files. [email protected]
Here is a link to one of the shows I have archived. http://www.peterproulx.com/Bell/

pproulxastro, I notice each mp3 on your page is approximately 9-10 MB. Would it be possible to put the shows on a bunch of free web hosting services? For example angelfire gives 20MB of web space per account but they will let you get an unlimited amount of accounts. Therefore theoretically all the web space you would need could be gotten for free.

And angelfire would kill it as it's copywritten material. Even if they didn't catch it, tranfers over a set limit which is very low like 50 megs or something, would be diabled due to too much traffic. Angel fire is a no go for bigger files, good enough for text though
pproulxastro, I'm not proposing that you do the work. I'm proposing that I do the work. What if I could first copy the site you have to several free web hosting accounts. Once it is complete, you erase what you have on your site and then put up another show. Then we repeat the process. We would have to keep the web addresses among a very tight group of people with no links to it on this message board or anywhere else for that matter. I'm not saying I'll start mind you...just brain storming at this point. Could this work or is there a better way to do it? Perhaps kaza would be a better way?

What format are these MP3 files? I would recommend using 16Kbits/sec for talk radio this allows under 3MB per half hour segment with the break periods removed. So a 4 hour show would take 20-24MB. Most email servers limit space to 5MB or less. My ISP provides a 100MB FTP/web space, anyone can download from it - but only I can upload to it. I've found some low cost hosting sites that can provide up to 1GB space for $7/month.

I know this was proposed earlier this year, but it doesn't seem to be followed through. Why don't those of us who have nothing to trade offer to sponsor a month's fee (or two), and several different files a month can be put on a server for downloading. Hell, I'll sponsor the download site for 3 months if it means I can finally get to hear some of the old shows.<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">Originally posted by BadBoy:
