Oh, there are a LOT of angles to this story. Mal Evans for one. He was everywhere with the Beatles. Roadie, played instruments sometime, body-guard. He disappeared with "Paul" for a while after 1966 and reappeared when a scruffy mustachioed "Paul" appeared in 1967. Mal was inexplicably shot to death in California by the LA police,

"Paul" didn't attend the funeral...........

Lots of weird deaths associated with Paul.

Another angle is guitarist Jimmy McCulloch........ Like Denny Laine, Jimmy McCulloch was from Scotland where "Paul" retreated to, on a very remote farm after The Beatles broke up. During their relatively short partnership, did Jimmy discover something?

Conspiracy theory - "Did Jimmy know too much?"

On 27 September 1979, McCulloch was found dead by his brother in his flat in Maida Vale, London.[12] An autopsy found that McCulloch died of heart failure due to morphine and alcohol poisoning. He was 26 years old and was not known for being a user of hard drugs

Lived Fast, Died Young: Wings, Thunderclap Newman’s Jimmy McCulloch

He may have been the epitome of the “live fast, die young” philosophy, but Jimmy McCulloch was also a prodigious guitarist who packed more into his 26 years than many people do in a lifetime. Jimmy was born in Dumbarton, in the Scottish Lowlands, on June 4, 1953.

As the teenage prodigy with Thunderclap Newman, the guitarist in the mid-1970s line-up of Wings, member of the latter-day Small Faces or anything else in his all-too-short career, McCulloch was a singular British talent. It’s often forgotten these days what a unique career Jimmy had from an incredibly early age. He made his mark as a guitarist on a national scale before he even reached 14 years old.
A good book that will keep you guessing.....

kbot your working rock historian knowledge on where to go on the web is amazing with strange Rock related life ending accounts!

Jimmy may have known too much!

Rock N Roll mysteries beginning with Robert Johnson's Mississippi crossroads late night suspected pact with Satan is eerie. The old Rock N Roll musicians deaths as members of their "27 Club" began with his passing at that early age. 🎸 😓

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/27_Club

Todays "Paul is Dead" followers must rank Paul's perceived loss and replacement with being the 27 Club's equal!

Oddly lawsuits have never been filed by the existing Paul against authors putting out a number of books claiming he is a faked double. Nothing, nothing at all.

I am following your new links in both posts and WTH is right! The half faces side by side is a pic I had not seen in a long time!

Now to cover more ground I will view your new ones.

Now I'm off to Paranormal to see if my old 2002 thread, that Gary Patterson knew very well, has reached 127,500 bumps. 😏

There are oddities with Jimmy's death. Found this on the Find a Grave website:

On 27 September 1979, McCulloch died of heart failure caused by a heroin overdose at his flat in Maida Vale, North West London, aged 26. He was discovered by his brother sitting in an easy chair with a burnt out joint in his hands. There were NO drugs in the house, but pot, booze and heroin in his bloodstream. His brother thought it could be homicide because it looked like the place was cleaned. The rock community was shocked and saddened, however, among those who had worked with him, there was not a lot of surprise. It was a huge loss for the world.

It is this remark by "Paul" that makes me wonder.......

“He was always a little dangerous,” Paul McCartney said of the fresh-faced, hard-living guitarist. “In the end, he was just too dangerous for his own good.”

By all accounts, Jimmy didn't do drugs.

One theory concerning "Paul", post-1966 is that his replacement was Scottish by birth.....

Interestingly, the Paul McCartney Project has a much sanitized version of Jimmy's death. The stories here don't mention that Jimmy was fired by "Paul" or his subsequent comments on being dangerous......

I can see Paul saying that about anyone in the music industry mixing drugs and alcohol in liberal amounts to shut down their heart or other organs.

The great Hank Williams' passing the same way still has not set in deep enough in real world human stresses to this day!😒

In today's world Fyntinal/Fentynal ? comes to mind.

If you had not mentioned Jim McCulough. I would still be unaware of his music friendship with a Beatle named Paul.
