Saturday Night Schlock Theater

Post by Riddick » 08-21-2021 07:19 PM

They're low-budget & they're cheesy
They're low-brow & they're sleazy
They're altogether B-zie!
That's all as well may be

Yet some folks like to see 'em,
They think they are a screa-um:
You may well even be 'un!
If so then you're like me -

So getcher popcorn & your sody,
Sit down & when you're ready
Let your mind go veggie! -
* Enjoy a schlocky flick *

Presenting This Week's Schlock Theater Feature

It's only a campy low budget 1974 made-for-TV movie—but it’s also the only flick ever about a small construction crew on an island terrorized by a bloodthirsty bulldozer possessed by an alien life force... How do you kill a machine BEFORE it kills YOU?

A kid-friendly baby-boomer favorite, this 1966 schockbuster film has bug-eyed antics and twitchy schitck galore as Don Knotts' character digs into a "murder house" mystery. "Attaboy, Luther!"

Revenge is the best medicine in this bizarre & campy spectacle (perhaps best described as a spoof of his earlier horror classics), as Price plays a dastardly & diabolical theology scholar & organ enthusiast wreaking gruesome vengeance on the medical workers who failed to save his beloved's life

This Week's Schlock Theater "Nature Strikes Back" Ecological Fear Mongering Feature

In this 1977 'near future' flick, turns out we used way too much Aquanet so the ozone layer is depleted, causing animals to go berserk and attack a group of hikers and campers including fearlessly boorish and rude advertising exec Leslie Nielsen, who turns out to be more frightening than any animal threat.

A man's best friends are his rats!? You might not think a schlocky horror flick with an unhinged but decidedly likable lead, a disgusting & repugnant villain, & several comedy scenes that seem like they belong in a heartwarming coming of age story would be a massive hit. But in 1971 it very much was.

FYI folks: due to scheduling issues? Rather than return tomorrow night, SNST is going into semi-retirement for the nonce - If you never see it again that means it's fully retired! Otherwise it'll return on an occasional basis -

That said, as freaky Saturday night flick selections go for a far more than suitable alternative Svengoolie makes great picks. Plus there's a chance to win a rubber chicken signed by the man himself. Such a deal!!
