Ian has really disappointed me in the last few months. He is not allowing the guests to express themselves as Mr. Bell did.

I've listened to the Jesus Christ Show a few times...I really enjoyed it when I did, though maybe I wouldn't feel the same now. Hard to say. I like the basic idea of it.

I have this recurring daydream that Jesus returns, takes basically the same physical form he had before, so he's a Palestinian. The TV preachers and their followers never even find out he came back because the Israelis won't give him a visa out of Gaza. They miss the whole Second Coming.

I haven't heard it for years, but the guy plays it totally straight, not like JC at all, not over the top, and what I found really interesting were the callers -- people would call in and also take it completely seriously and pour their heart out to this guy, people practically had nervous breakdowns on the radio, and he basically talked them down the way you'd "talk someone down" having a bad acid trip. It was a weird listening experience in that it wasn't ironic at all. In retrospect, the guy playing Jesus is clearly following the left-liberal, "all faiths are alike, we all worship the same God, only the particulars are different" bit of obfuscation, but in general, it was way more intelligent and thoughtful than you'd think it'd be. I don't even know if it's the same guy at this point. And it used to be on during the afternoons or something -- then they switched it to early morning Sunday, so of course I stopped listening.
