A New Update

Awwww... how sad! It's very tricky keeping birds and cats in the same house; one must be ever-vigilant. Basically, it's not a good idea. Even with dogs you need to be careful.
The tiniest scratch or bite, or even a bird preening cat saliva off its feathers or licking it off cage bars can cause the bird's death within as short as 24 hours. If anyone suspects something like this, run, don't walk to a certified avian veterinarian with the bird and pray the vet can save him or her. The problem is bacteria, and even the teensiest scratch can kill the biggest macaws or cockatoos very quickly.

I can vouch for the cat thing. I had a girlfriend once that had 3 cats and a hamster cage. The cats would take turns sitting on top of the wire cage and they would peer down into the cage for hours patiently observing. I bet the hamster was terrified.
She called it "a TV for cats".
One day she forgot to latch the lid on the cage. She came home and stepped on the bitten in half hamster with her bare feet.
She screamed. The cats just looked at her with a puzzled look while they lazily swished their tails.

That's sad. Not to mention life must have been sheer hell for that poor hamster. Your friend should have seen that and gotten that hamster out of the house, or at least into a room shut away from the cats. To allow the cats to torment it like that was cruel.

LOL
I don't think she kept the hamster only for entertainment for the cats. She would periodically throw a twine ball at them to chase them from the cage. Though she would put the hamster in one of those clear plastic balls and let it roll around the living room. The cats would go nuts.
She moved far away when she got a job with Bechtel. Long distance relationships are doomed from the get-go.

Hey Art--
Maybe you should point those big guns at the phone company!!!:D (JK)
Enjoy your time together and before you know it, you'll be back on the airwaves blasting your way to us once again. Thanks for keeping us in the loop. It makes waiting a little more bearable!

My Marriage to Ramona could not have been better and the shock of losing her was so great that I was not going to last very long alone, I was wasting away and not eating. I was in such bad shape.
I want to thank Kraig Kitchin and everybody at the network who have been wonderful through this strange new adventure in my life, it really has been a strange wild ride.

After Romona's passing, during the days Art was trying to return to a "normal life",
I heard him once on the S-meter site, and could hear the
sadness and isolation, in his voice.
Art, I hope the life changes bring you and your new wife, much happiness. ~ God Bless ~
