Wishing the Bell's all the happiness in the world. Missing Papa Bell mucho however. An occasional show would be a real treat!

Let's see here...
Last night when you were on the air, you mentioned that most people live on about two dollars a day...

How can that be?

I'm really interested to know what it may take to live there.

One thing I wonder about is the weather... You know San Diego weather kinda spoils everyone...
How high from sea level is Manila?
Is the building you and family live in built well to handle those great storms?
I know, no guarantee's.

How is the health system?

You and everyone mention's ... Tips are in order, if you want anything done.

How is the water there?
Everyone on bottled water, like here in the states?
Where does it come from?

What do you protect yourself with from those mosquitoes and biting bugs? ... and does it work?

What are some of the dangers?

Actually, you mentioned cats are not thought of as people's pets and probably could not run outside, and be safe, right?
Might become kitty taco's,
Or road kill in a hurry.
For me, I'd have to have a lot of land around a house, and high fences to keep the cats safe... As they are in & out kitties.

Is property reasonable there?

I'll keep an eye on this thread to see if you might answer, Art.

Btw... Your voice is getting even better with age. How can that be?? ;)
And you are as sharp as a razor, as always...
Just hope your back let's you sit comfortable while you do your programs...

Last night was just outstanding for your listener's....
I can't thank you enough for being there... ON AIR' where you belong....

Thank you's offered, to the Bell Family.
We love you, dearly.

Art,

What do Filipinos think of President Obama? Positive, I hope.

Art, as much as I LOVE hearing you on the air, I think you're deserting your country when it really needs people like you.

WHAT IF... something happens and you can't communicate your truth any longer with us? WHAT IF... something happens to Manilla sooner than it happens here?

I'm not saying that will happen. I'm just asking, WHAT IF?

Be well, my friend, and the very best to you and your family. I hope this all shakes out the way you want it to.

Some Answers

Post by Art Bell » 06-03-2009 05:00 AM

1.The Weather here is as Hawaii.
2.It is a poor country where indeed two thirds of the people live on two bucks a day, but they are happy.
3.This building is built to California Earthquake standards.
4. Tips? A polite word for bribes, everything here runs from juice, it is just the way of life.
5.Water here (in our building) is perfect 22 step system.
6.Bugs here are no problem, I have yet to see a mosquito.
7.Dangers? Kidnapping has happened, always watch your wallet and cell phone as any big city.
8. My Kitties are inside only. Here cats are not eaten, nor are dogs anymore.
9Property is very reasonable but only a Filipino may own except a Condo which Americans may buy. (Unless you are Married to a native)
10.Health system here is great, the Philippines supplys much of the World with Doctors and Nurses.
11. Health costs here are about a tenth the cost of the U.S.
12.Out my windowI look over a 18 hole Golf course but I don't play.

ART !! :D

Aaah, thank you so much for all the info...

I think I could retire there myself, from the answers you provided.
Thank you very much.

Hey, it was funny this eve.. I wanted to record Obama in the White House tonight (the interview with NBC), but no blank tapes, so grabbed one out of the box with no title and low and behold when I played it to see what was on it, it was you!:D
The one where you were interviewed at home and around Pahrump.. It was kewl to see' you in action...
Has Airyn seen that one yet?

I hope lil' Asia (the boss) is having fun with her enlarged family and has found playmates her own age.. How is she doing with all that?

Well, it's time for us to put on that ole' Beatle's tune this month, for us...
"Will ya still need me, will ya still feed me.... When I'm sixty-four!"

Having rice cake? lol....
Good thing I like eating rice, too. Tied of tatar's...

Glad to know kitty tacos and hot dogs aren't on the menu...

Hope to hear from you soon, Art'.... Hopefully on the radio, or another post.

Love to you all, and 'Happy Birthday' to one very kewl dude.

;)
