Listen!

Remember when sane people tried to tell you, Cherry kelly, WHY lil dubya (cheney) invaded Iraq? Remember? Do you remember the "secret" energy meeting with the oil companies in which Iraqi oil fields were divided up? Do you remember that YOU said it would be an easy cake walk war that would be over in a few weeks?

THIS IS THE REASON FOR THE DEAD SOLDIERS AND THE DEAD IRAQI CIVILIANS!!!

.... and YOU, Cherry Kelly, YOU have blood on your hands too.

Pickens says U.S. firms 'entitled' to Iraqi oil
Thu Oct 22, 2009 2:18am IST

By Tom Doggett

WASHINGTON, Oct 21 (Reuters) - Oil tycoon T. Boone Pickens told Congress on Wednesday that U.S. energy companies are "entitled" to some of Iraq's crude because of the large number of American troops that lost their lives fighting in the country and the U.S. taxpayer money spent in Iraq.

Boone, speaking to the newly formed Congressional Natural Gas Caucus, complained that the Iraqi government has awarded contracts to foreign companies, particularly Chinese firms, to develop Iraq's vast reserves while American companies have mostly been shut out.

"They're opening them (oil fields) up to other companies all over the world ... We're entitled to it," Pickens said of Iraq's oil. "Heck, we even lost 5,000 of our people, 65,000 injured and a trillion, five hundred billion dollars."

President Barack Obama has pledged to withdraw U.S. troops in Iraq.

"We leave there with the Chinese getting the oil," Pickens said.

Iraq's Oil Minister Hussain al-Shahristani told a Washington conference on Wednesday that his government was happy with the energy auction it held earlier this year. The auction was the first chance for foreign oil firms to compete for Iraqi oil since the U.S.-led invasion in 2003.

"We're pleased with scale and participation of the IOC (International Oil Companies) and the transparent and public competition," Shahristani said at a U.S.-Iraq business and investment conference.

BP and the Chinese oil company CNPC were the only firms to win a contract in Iraq's bid round this summer, the first chance for foreign oil firms to compete for Iraqi oil since the U.S.-led invasion in 2003. Seven other oil and gas fields failed to attract bidders on the terms Iraq offered.

But a consortium headed by Italy's ENI (ENI.MI: Quote, Profile, Research) said last week it signed a deal to develop the giant Zubair field for a remuneration fee of $2 a barrel. At Iraq's oilfield auction in June, the consortium refused to go below $4.40 a barrel.

Two consortiums are still competing for a deal to develop the even larger West Quran oilfield. They are Russia's LUKOIL (LKOH.MM: Quote, Profile, Research) and ConocoPhillips (COP.N: Quote, Profile, Research) and another consortium headed by Exxon Mobil (XOM.N: Quote, Profile, Research). So tell me, Cherry Kelly, was it worth it? Was all of that death and destruction really worth the destroyed lives?

rumike -- let's see - the media seems to care - oh they only cared if it was GW going out to golf. BUT now we have a DEM in office & we have a war in Afghanistan. HE put a guy in charge - then ignored him - ignored requests for more troops - and did what - went out golfing. The point is - media made a big deal out of GW going golfing with a war going on - but do WHAT? about Obama going golfing while a war is going on?

GW talked to and listened to his military leader according to gov't info sites - every week. Obama avoided doing that for how long? (almost 3 months)

Corvid -- The DEMS were talking about going into IRAQ -- before GW was in office. Need I re-post all those comments? Need you be reminded of the UN sanctions and the illegalities being committed by UN members in the "oil for food scam"? ALL before GW was in office? Or have you chosen to forget about those things? Or how about the state of union address regarding going into Iraq?

NOW this topic is about Olbermann so if you want to talk about war - start a topic on it.

Out! Out! Damned spot!

Yes please do post the "proof" of the Democrat inspired illegal invasion of Iraq. You, Cherry Kelly, were the one who brought up the war, not me.

Regard please the 6 August Presidential Daily Briefing that your beloved lil dubya did not have time for. "Clearing brush at Crawdad was more important.

There are limits to which one can rewrite history.

He didn't another lie from the reich-wing
Republican - re·pub·li·can (r-pbl-kn) - political party, which will control part of Congress 2011-2012, undermining the strength of the country - on purpose, in public, without apology or shame - simply for a campaign advantage in 2012.

I hope it's appropriate to "bump"(?) this thread and that I'm placing this in the right place.
