I just heard an NPR 'reporter' make the Russia/Muslim connection. Then the host actually warned her not to connect too many dots. Had to lol at that - both response were ridiculous.
When I look at their pic I can't help thinking of SNL Martin and Ackroyd's "Two wild and crazy guys."

What I heard was tha they were Chechnyan. Chechnyans are not Russians...... Alternative explanation is Turkish - they dont' know for sure yet
