Studies Show Sarcasm Increases Creativity, Abstract Thinking

Post by Riddick » 11-08-2015 02:54 PM

Sarcasm is the “highest form of intelligence,” Harvard Business School studies suggest. The researchers found the sassy among us cause more conflict, but were also demonstrating “enhanced creativity” in the form of abstract thinking. You’ve got to work hard for those jokes, folks.

What’s even more interesting, is that our ability to detect sarcasm also says something about our IQ. According to The Smithsonian, “Studies have shown that exposure to sarcasm enhances creative problem solving.”

So, our suggestion is not to flee from the most sarcastic person in your work life. They may be good for your brain and enhancing your creativity!

A mind should not be so open that the brains fall out; however, it should not be so closed that whatever gray matter which does reside may not be reached. ART BELL
