The Department of Transportation/National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards have now become a tool wielded by the Biden administration to club Americans into submission to electric vehicles.

What do the latest edition of CAFE standards imposed by the NHTSA do? Place the internal combustion engine in the course of ultimate extinction. But it’s all for our own good.

In the “experts” word from above: “The push for more E.V.s comes as the world’s leading climate experts say that retiring the internal combustion engine is critical to staving off the most deadly effects of global warming.”

Like every regulator grant of power to the administrative agencies of the executive branch, the agency has grabbed the power and expanded it beyond its original intent. They have good intentions, of course, or something like them.

Demand for them is as flat as a pancake-! Just as it is, buyer's remorse can drive owners daffy AND they don't do a damn thing to stop the supposed climate crisis. Batteries exploding is a feature not a bug to go with their amazing unaffordability.

Will there be a supply/demand reckoning? Or will we simply see even more market meddling? YEAH, that's the ticket. Command & control mandates to the rescue! -

But our present VP could have issues plugging one in!

Picture this! Huge logoed electrified signs would show their locations offering up diesel powered well muffled generators running 24-7!

Another green energy domino is falling, and we have bipartisanship to thank for it! The action comes as EV sales, a keystone of compliance with this nonsense, have begun to slow.

The effort is not expected to eliminate the rule. If the resolution makes it past the Senate, Biden (or his designated minder of the day) will veto it. However, it is still a positive sign that real climate science is chipping away at “consensus” science.

Meanwhile, the Harris-Walz campaign is silent on climate policy, which is odd because Harris was tie-breaking vote in the Inflation Reduction Act that was, in reality, the Green New Deal that brought policies like the EV mandate.

For Democrats, talking about climate and its flip-side issue, fracking, is a lose-lose proposition just now. If Harris pushes anti-carbon policies, she might lose Pennsylvania. If she supports fracking, she risks alienating young climate voters.

It will take a long time to chip away in piecemeal fashion all the economic damage done under Harris and her green energy minions. But the House vote is a good sign that even more dominoes will fall.
