A great songwriter and performer. Many don't realize the songs he wrote that were hits for others: Hush by Deep Purple, Rose Garden by Lynn Anderson and Walk a Mile in My Shoes by Elvis. I never saw him perform, but did run into him a couple of times around Atlanta.
