I've thought about this subject for years, and I've come to my own conclusion about it: George is not gullible. Not one bit. George & Co. have decided that they will market their show to an audience that they view is gullible. In fact, I think that George believes that anyone who listens to a show involving paranormal subjects is by nature gullible. Therefore, he pretends to buy everything that comes out of his guest's mouths, provided it doesn't contradict the dozen or so catch-phrases he spouts every night. By taking this approach, all intelligent discussion and analysis is removed from the format, and all respect for audience and guest forsaken.

I think you're giving George too much credit. He isn't smart enough to be this sneaky.

I've just noticed that George is a salesman above all else. And the salesman I've worked with (I used to work in a distributorship with many of them) usually think they are more intelligent than everyone else - they assume gullability. However, often times I noticed that the salesmen (not trying to be gender-biased, but I haven't worked with any saleswomen) are actually not too bright. I am certainly not ascribing that many smarts to HN, just that he fis a type I've seen before. It's just part of his salesman personality. Obviously I'm over-generalizing, as I also have known some very smart salespeople as well.

Anyone know if Noory pulled any pranks this April Fool's?

Beyond his ongoing impersonation of an actual radio talent, that is.
